Role Overview:

As Senior Director of Business Development, you will lead client acquisition efforts for Uniphar’s Medical Affairs, Medical Information, MSL, and HCP engagement solutions. Targeting emerging to mid-size biotech and pharmaceutical companies, you’ll drive revenue growth, cultivate senior-level relationships, and position Uniphar as a trusted partner.

A success factor for this aspect of the role will be the ability to create, influence, and maintain senior level relationships with Medical Affairs, HCP Marketing Leaders, COEs, Procurement, Operations and Analytics to favorably position Uniphar for new opportunities. Your relationships and industry knowledge will be instrumental to actively generating business opportunities, and the insights needed to partner with teams through the development of RFP responses and pitch presentations.

Key Responsibilities

· Client Acquisition:

o Prospect, qualify, and close new business with biotech and pharmaceutical companies.

o Lead RFI/RFP responses and deliver tailored capabilities presentations.

o Develop and execute strategic plans to penetrate target markets.

· Relationship Management:

o Build and maintain senior-level relationships with Medical Affairs, HCP Marketing Leaders, and Procurement teams.

o Represent Uniphar at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.

o 25% Travel should be anticipated for client meetings and events

· Collaboration:

o Partner with cross-functional teams (marketing, operations, finance) to ensure seamless service delivery.

o Provide competitive intelligence to refine Uniphar’s market strategies.

· Performance Metrics:

o Meet or exceed revenue and opportunity generation targets.

o Maintain accurate records in CRM tools (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, LinkedIn Sales Navigator).

What We’re Looking For

· Experience:

o 5+ years in life sciences business development, medical affairs, or client services.

o Proven success in outbound sales and client acquisition in the healthcare or pharma sector.

o Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education plus professional experience required

· Skills & Knowledge:

o Strong understanding of medical affairs, Medical Information, MSLs, and HCP engagement solutions. This is non-negotiable. Candidates without this experience will not be considered.

o Excellent networking, presentation, and negotiation skills.

o Familiarity with tools like Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics.

o You are a closer with an impressive track record of hitting seven-digit revenue-based growth goals

· Personal Attributes:

o Entrepreneurial mindset with a consultative approach.

o Self-motivated and confident in engaging senior decision-makers.
