Job DescriptionDue to significant growth driven by the increasing complexity of global trade and geopolitics, we are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Economist to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a client-facing individual with strong analytical capabilities, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for helping clients navigate today's challenging economic landscape. You will play a key role in understanding client needs, developing innovative solutions, and delivering impactful solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Engage directly with clients to understand their key challenges and objectives related to macroeconomic and geopolitical risks and supply chain strategy.
- Design and develop tailored analytical frameworks and solutions to address client-specific needs.
- Conduct rigorous economic analysis (both micro and macro) to assess the impact of geopolitical events and trade policy shifts on global supply chains.
- Collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts to deliver comprehensive consulting services.
- Lead project workstreams, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Develop clear and compelling presentations and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to clients.
- Contribute to business development efforts by interacting with prospective clients and supporting proposal development.
- Lead the development and strategic positioning of platform solutions—models and tools designed to address common client challenges—driving innovation, scalability, and value delivery.
- Master's degree in Economics, Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field.
- Proven experience in consulting, with a track record of successful client engagements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex datasets.
- Solid understanding of economic principles (macro and/or micro) and their application to real-world issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
- Proficiency in developing and delivering impactful presentations using tools like PowerPoint
- Bonus if candidate has experience with data visualization tools, familiarity with Python and/or other programming languages for data manipulation and analysis.
Job Type: Full-time. Expeditors has an in-office work policy and offers 26 work-from-home days per year. Depending on location, employees may be required to travel for client and team meetings.
Education: Master's Degree (Required).
Experience: 5+ years relevant professional experience in economics, supply chain, or management consulting
