What You’ll Do

As a Senior Software Engineer on IDP you will lead the design and delivery of foundational platform services that enable Agentic Developer Workflows and the AI Tools Management control plane. You will be a technical leader for MCP server architecture, the MCP registry, spec-driven developer experiences, and the agentic orchestration layers that safely automate high-impact workflows across the inner dev loop, integration loop, and deployment loop. You will also mentor more junior engineers and help define the safety, governance, and operational standards that scale across CoreWeave.

In this role, you will

  • Architect, build, and operate the MCP hosting platform and the MCP Registry with strong lifecycle, versioning and governance semantics. Provide templates, SDKs, and reference implementations for internal teams.
  • Lead end-to-end design for agentic experiences (inner loop assistants, post-PR integration agents, release/incident copilots), ensuring reproducibility, explainability, and safe autonomy configuration.
  • Drive spec-driven development patterns across the platform: make specs first-class, build structured retrieval and test generation pipelines, and ensure agent outputs are validated automatically against specs and policy gates.
  • Define and enforce operational guardrails: human-in-the-loop by default, policy enforcement gates (static analysis, vulnerability checks), observability, audit trails, and drift detection. Ensure agents cannot perform forbidden or unsafe autonomous behaviors without explicit configuration.
  • Build the AI Tools Management Control Plane capabilities (usage/spend tracking, policy engines, agentic optimization), and integrate telemetry/dashboards for visibility and automated decisioning. Optionally lead pilots that surface ROI and spend savings.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with DevEx, SRE, Security, Product, and teams exposing MCP servers; influence roadmap and take ownership of complex initiatives. Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and drive high quality delivery.

Investing in our people is one of our top priorities, and we value candidates who can bring their diversified experiences to our teams. Here are some qualities we’ve found compatible with our team. We'd love to talk about whether this aligns with your experience and interests and what you’re excited to work on next.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience building and operating distributed systems, platform services, or developer infrastructure.
  • Track record designing and shipping production APIs, services, and platform components at scale.
  • Strong systems programming skills (Go preferred) and deep experience with Kubernetes, container runtime concerns, IaC, and CI/CD best practices.
  • Experience building developer-facing tools or infrastructure (preview environments, CW-CLI style tooling, CI/CD integrations).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-team initiatives and provide technical leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant experience designing MCP-style tool integrations, registries, or SDKs for machine consumption and tool discovery.
  • Experience building agentic or autonomous systems with safety controls, explainability, and human-in-the-loop design.
  • Experience with knowledge/context systems (semantic indexes, RAG pipelines, Sourcegraph, vector stores), and building test/validation pipelines for generated code.
  • Experience creating operational tooling for usage/spend analytics and building dashboards (Grafana, Prometheus) and agentic automation for policy enforcement.

  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
