About Archy

Smile! Those teeth you are showing deserve the best care you can give them, yet the status quo of the software your dentist uses today is outdated.

Archy is a Series B vertical SaaS solution revolutionizing the dental practice management space — giving dental providers AI agents and software that lets them do what they do best (be dentists!) while we handle the more technical sides of running their practice business.

Job Description:

Join Archy as a Senior Engineering Manager and help revolutionize dental practice management with our cutting-edge SaaS solution. You’ll lead your team, focusing on React/TypeScript on the frontend and Java Spring Boot on the backend to deliver reliable, scalable systems that empower dental professionals to focus on patient care while remaining a hands-on technical contributor.

We are looking for a passionate Senior Engineering Manager to join our growing team. You’ll thrive in our environment, where your technical strategist and leadership skills will shine. You’ll lead various parts of our team, own the user experience and the architecture of our ecosystem, and drive the delivery of our most complex product milestones. As a player-coach, you will balance leadership and mentorship with high-impact technical contributions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Senior and Staff engineers, conducting regular 1:1s, providing career guidance, and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

  • Own the technical roadmap, making critical decisions on state management, component libraries, and build tools to support Archy’s growth.

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of major cross-functional product updates. You are responsible for managing the production lifecycle of your domains, ensuring a seamless and bug-free experience for our dental practices.

  • Integrate AI tools (like Claude) into your daily development process to improve efficiency. You should be an expert at using AI to complement your work while remaining the "architect," retaining total ownership of the code's logic, security, and architectural implications, and leveraging AI to handle repetitive tasks so you can focus on complex system logic, performance optimization, and user experience.

  • Play a key role in developing and refining the AI-powered interfaces our customers use, ensuring our new product updates are intuitive and high-performing.

  • Architect and oversee the seamless integration between our Java Spring Boot backend and React/TypeScript frontend to ensure high performance and system reliability.

  • Oversee and participate in code reviews, ensuring the team continuously improves while maintaining high standards for clean, maintainable code.

  • Identify opportunities to improve team efficiency, implement best practices, and streamline development workflows.

  • Manage project timelines, estimate development effort, and ensure the team delivers high-quality, on-time results across all product milestones.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 6+ years in a management role.

  • Leadership ability to manage both Senior and Staff engineers, while also being hands-on in the code. You'll blend performance management with product success.

  • Strong technical proficiency across our stack (React/TS and Java Spring Boot), with the ability to provide deep architectural oversight and code-level contributions in both domains.

  • Experience in the dental or healthcare industry is highly preferred.

  • Proven track record of managing product releases and monitoring overall system health in a live production environment.

  • Deep technical proficiency that meets Staff-level expectations, with a passion for remaining hands-on in the codebase.

  • Ability to articulate when and how to use AI to improve velocity without compromising the long-term maintainability of the overall codebase.

  • A deep focus on testing, stability, and performance to ensure our platform remains rock-solid for our users.

  • A customer-centric mindset: understanding that dental practices are relying on us to keep their businesses running smoothly.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to mentor engineers and collaborate cross-functionally with all teams.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary and equity (some roles may be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses)

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • 401(k) plan

  • Flexible vacation policy

  • Remote-friendly culture
