The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for analyzing financial data to support vendor expense, month-end accrual review processes, and invoice processing for all Enterprise customers.
As the Senior Financial Analyst daily, you will be responsible for the accurate tracking, analysis, and reporting of vendor expenses, reviewing accrual methodology and calculations, preparing monthly variance commentary on results, and partnering with the vendor standardization team to provide support during the budget/forecasting process. As the Senior Financial Analyst you will partner with cross-functional teams, including accounts payable, procurement, vendor standardization, and operational business leaders to ensure accuracy and transparency in vendor-related transactions.
To thrive in the role you will need prior experience with Excel pivot tables and v-lookups, prior experience improving Excel financial models, you must be willing to recommend improvements to financial models and processes, you must be confident in engaging with all levels of the organization, and you will utilize your prior experience in analyzing data, handling month-end, accruals, budgets and forecasts to support our Enterprise customers.
Here's what you will experience as our Senior Financial Analyst:
- Review and validate vendor invoices for accuracy, appropriate coding, and budget alignment; investigate discrepancies between invoices, POs, and contracts.
- Outreach to vendors where invoices are delayed or may include errors
- Outreach to customers, to request invoice copies and/or to research invoice or reimbursement questions
- Review non-payroll accrual trackers monthly to ensure accrual calculations are accurate and in line with expectations
- Review monthly and quarterly SOX controls and provide documentation to support internal audit review
- Assist the vendor standardization team with vendor expense forecasting and annual budgets
- Prepare variance analysis and provide explanations for actual results vs. forecast / budget results
- Collaborate and partner with Procurement, Accounts Payable, and business stakeholders to ensure the completeness and accuracy of vendor-related financials
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives related to vendor financial management and reporting
- Support additional projects to reduce vendor expense through contract clean-up, identification of products that should be eliminated, consolidation of multiple vendors used for similar functions, etc.
- Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or equivalent experience in a finance or accounting role
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a finance analyst, staff accountant, or similar role is required
- Strong Excel skills that include prior experience with pivot tables and v-lookups; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Adaptive Insights is a plus
- Prior experience improving upon Excel models
- Strong analytical skills and decision-making abilities
- Effective communication skills and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while keeping pace with changing Finance and Operational leadership demands.
- Ability to work independently, cross-functionally, and to self-motivate in a fast-paced environment.
