As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will develop scalable and maintainable product features, collaborate with stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers.
Top Skills: DjangoMySQLPythonReactTypescript

You are a Senior Full Stack Engineer.  Not a Backend Engineer who will reluctantly do a little front end work when no one else is available.  Not a React Engineer who knows a bit of SQL. Your 7+ years of experience has been spent in the data layer, building cloud services, designing web applications and using a variety of UI frameworks. You know Python very well and bonus points if you’ve built web applications with Django. You don’t mind wading into Typescript or Javascript front-ends and are even willing to hand tweak CSS from time to time.

You are a programming pragmatist.  You build software that is fit for purpose, scales, but most of all just works.  You build it quickly without overinvesting in generalized solutions.  You are equally at home designing architecture with your digital whiteboard of choice or deep in the logs, debugging a thorny, intermittent issue.

You are a technical leader. You make the engineers around you better by providing timely feedback, guiding others, and having a clear decision making framework. Your code reviews are thought provoking and thorough, but never prescriptive. You are curious about damn near everything.  Time not spent learning something new feels like wasted time.  When you look at code you wrote a year ago, you shake your head at your own naivete, all the while very conscious that you will do the same thing to today’s code in a year.

You thrive in a self-service environment and are unfazed by ambiguity.  The prospect of working on a tiny team providing undeniable value for our biggest client doesn’t deter you.  On the contrary, it attracts you.  You’re used to being a critical lynch pin for your company. You don’t believe in staying in your lane.  When you see a critical problem you either solve it or you call attention to it.

You have used GCP in more than one project.  More bonus points if you have used Bazel/Blaze, and extra mega bonus points if you have used Lit.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
