As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will report directly to the Fund Accounting Manager. You will take a lead role in managing fund accounting, post-trade operations, reporting, and various projects, while mentoring junior team members. You will collaborate closely with other operations teams and technical teams across the company to support growth projects and scale Voleon's infrastructure. This role is a means to make a difference: together with the Finance team, you will be a core member of running our daily operations and creating infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain accuracy in key reporting, including monthly and annual financial statements, tax compliance, and treasury management across multiple asset classes and geographies
- Help with tax compliance reporting review
- Serve as a primary point of contact for service providers, ensuring policies and internal control standards are followed
- Own and oversee daily and monthly reconciliations between internal records, prime brokers, counterparties, banks, and the fund administrator
- Maintain the internal accounting system; produce and review daily and monthly trading P&L reports, AUM reports, and confirm settlement activity across trading strategies
- Mentor and support junior Fund Accountants on the team
- Drive process improvement and automation initiatives across the fund accounting function
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in hedge fund, public accounting for asset management, or fund administrator
- Thorough understanding of financial reporting and its application to investment management funds
- Experience working with enterprise-level accounting software (VPM, Geneva, Arcesium)
- Advanced abilities in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated experience automating manual processes (preferred)
- Exposure to or interest in gaining experience with python or SQL (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or Accounting
- Authorization to work in the United States
The base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $125,000 in the locations of this posting. Individual salaries are determined through a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. Base salary does not include other forms of total compensation such as bonus compensation and other benefits. Our benefits package includes medical, dental and vision coverage, life and AD&D insurance, 20 days of paid time off, 9 sick days, and a 401(k) plan with a company match.
