Salary range: $7,630.83 to $10,683.17 per month

Job Description

*This position works fully in-person at STCU headquarters located in Liberty Lake, Washington. To be considered, candidates must currently live within daily commuting distance to STCU headquarters in Liberty Lake, Washington*

 

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for building partnerships with designated divisions and aligning business objectives with employees and leaders. This position leads all employee relations and performance management activities by providing guidance and counsel to managers and employees on policies, issues and concerns while also mentoring other HR team members. This position also supports the ADA accommodation process and departmental initiatives and projects.

Core Job Requirements/Outcomes

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues by consulting with leaders and employees, completing objective fact-finding, and proactively mentoring team members to build and foster a positive work environment.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for leaders by providing performance management guidance including coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions, policy interpretations, etc. as well as facilitating the process for departing employees.
  • Analyze and explore trends and metrics, in partnership with other HR team members by proactively identifying issues and recommending solutions, programs and policies; and participating in and/or leading departmental projects.

Other Essential Functions

  • Develop and maintain a reputation as a neutral and approachable HR professional by serving employees and the organization objectively and professionally while creating partnerships and fostering a positive team environment.
  • Provide support and guidance to managers regarding HR laws, regulations, policies and practices by maintaining in-depth knowledge of employment laws and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Facilitate programs and educational seminars that support leadership skills development for managers.
  • Support compliant and effective workplace accommodations while building employee and manager understanding by providing guidance on the ADA accommodation process, reviewing requests, and making determinations when appropriate.
  • Support and/or lead departmental projects and initiatives by contributing as an effective project team member and completing all tasks and assignments in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field required. An emphasis in Human Resources Management is preferred.

Certifications: A Professional Human Resources Certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR) is strongly preferred.

Job Experience: Minimum of five years progressive human resources experience required with directly related experience in resolving complex employee relations issues, coaching and consulting with leaders, performance management, and providing proactive trend analysis and solutions. Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations is required.

Software Skills: Experience working with a HRMS is required. Proficient knowledge of MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.

Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 10 pounds with accommodations.

Work Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Travel Demands: Reliable transportation is required due to occasional travel to branches and other locations within the area.
