About the role/team:

The Implementation Project Manager oversees the onboarding of new and existing clients, ensuring a seamless implementation of WEX’s Health products. This role requires deep expertise in healthcare benefits administration, regulatory compliance, and system capabilities. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Implementation Project Manager drives client success through strategic solutions and strong cross-functional collaboration.

How you will make an impact:

Industry Expertise & Client Solutions:

  • Serve as a thought leader in healthcare benefits administration, regulatory compliance, and technology-driven solutions.

  • Provide consultative guidance on product functionality, operational best practices, and long-term administrative success.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, legislative changes, and compliance requirements.

  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA and other regulatory standards, mitigating risks for clients and the company.

  • Design customized implementation strategies tailored to complex client needs and business goals.

Technology & Process Optimization:

  • Act as a subject matter expert in system functionalities, integration processes, and automation capabilities.

  • Collaborate with data integration teams and external vendors for seamless system implementations.

  • Optimize benefits administration through automation and advanced reporting tools.

  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce setup cycle times.

  • Educate clients on WEX’s technology to improve plan administration.

Client & Partner Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and brokers.

  • Educate stakeholders on product design, regulatory implications, and operational workflows.

  • Advocate for client needs, identifying opportunities for service enhancements and system improvements.

  • Provide compliance and regulatory guidance to ensure clients follow best practices.

  • Support open enrollment planning through training and strategic consultation.

  • Manage escalations independently, particularly for high-profile and complex clients.

  • Ensure transparent communication of deadlines and deliverables through project management frameworks and methodologies.

Cross-Functional Leadership:

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Sales, Operations, Claims, and Client Support, to align project objectives.

  • Support sales teams with client discussions, finalist presentations, and pre-implementation assessments.

  • Guide internal teams through implementation complexities while ensuring alignment with client expectations.

  • Monitor revenue impact and system configurations for accurate financial reporting.

Experience you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare benefits administration, implementation, or related fields.

  • Experience with project management frameworks preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, including HIPAA and benefits administration policies.

  • Ability to translate complex client requirements into efficient system configurations.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.

  • Excellent communication skills for engaging senior-level stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in SaaS-based benefits administration platforms and project management tools.

  • Experience driving technology adoption and process automation for efficiency.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Commitment to superior client service through strategic consultation and continuous improvement.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
