What We Need: 

The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for designing and developing engaging, effective and scalable learning solutions that support business goals and enhance manager and employee effectiveness. This role partners closely with department leaders to analyze learning needs and create instructional materials focused on leadership development and professional skills content programs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, creative, and skilled in adult learning theory, with hands-on experience designing content across a variety of delivery modalities. They will report directly to the Director of Training and Enablement. The Senior Instructional Designer will also provide administrative oversight and support for learning platforms, including the Learning Management System.

What You Will Do: 

  • Curate and manage learning content to support learning objectives and engagement including curriculums, learning tools and program materials for leadership and employee development.
  • Maintain and optimize the Learning Management System (LMS) by uploading and organizing content, managing user access and permissions, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring system functionality and data integrity.
  • Monitor and analyze LMS usage data to identify trends, improve user experience, and recommend enhancements to learning programs and platform performance.
  • Design and develop learning content using instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).
  • Use authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate), AI tools, and LMS platforms to build and deploy content.
  • Facilitate leadership programs and professional development sessions, as needed.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex information into clear, engaging learning experiences.
  • Develop learning paths and curriculums that close performance gaps, prepare new hires, and enable comprehensive skill development.
  • Apply adult learning principles and accessibility standards to all learning solutions.
  • Conduct needs assessments and analyze learning gaps to inform design decisions.
  • Develop assessments to measure team member & leader competencies and determine achievement of learning objectives.
  • Ensure content accuracy and alignment with current policies, procedures, accreditation and compliance standards.
  • Monitor learning progress and compliance by generating and analyzing LMS reports on course completions, participation rates, and learner performance.

What You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Organization Communication, Industrial Organizational Psychology or related field required; Masters preferred
  • 5+ years of instructional design and curriculum development experience, including the development of eLearning and instructor-led training
  • Experience in developing leaders following a 70/20/10 model and a blended learning approach using e-learning, classroom, virtual and hands-on application experiences preferred.
  • Experience in the areas of learning and development with increasing levels of responsibility and scope, especially in design and implementation of Leadership Development programs
  • Experience in technology and role-specific training required
  • Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools and Learning Management System platforms
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design models
  • Experience designing for both virtual and in-person learning environments
