What you'll do as a Lead Platform Engineer
- Build and maintain core AI infrastructure and tooling, including runtimes, model gateways, orchestration layers, and SDKs.
- Deliver reusable components that simplify AI development workflows - such as agent orchestration (e.g., LangGraph), vector search (e.g., Weaviate or PGVector), prompt management, and model routing (e.g., LiteLLM).
- Work closely with product and infrastructure engineers to solve real pain points, ensuring teams can adopt and scale AI effectively.
- Operationalize AI in production by implementing monitoring, evaluation, and fallback systems that keep features reliable and performant.
- Drive features from prototype through production rollout, focusing on execution and delivery.
- Keep up to date with emerging AI platform tools and frameworks, applying them where they improve team velocity and product reliability.
- Share best practices with peers and contribute to building a strong engineering culture on the team.
What you'll bring
- Strong software engineering background, with 4+ years of experience building backend systems, platforms, or internal tools at scale.
- Proficiency in .NET, Java, Python, TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Experience in developer enablement, infrastructure, or platform engineering - especially with CI/CD, productivity tooling, or automation.
- Familiarity with building AI-powered applications in production, such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, task-driven agents, or LLM-integrated tools.
- Hands-on experience with components of modern AI platforms - such as orchestration frameworks, vector databases, and monitoring/evaluation tools.
- Interest in simplifying complex AI workflows and building safe, reliable abstractions.
- Strong execution mindset - you focus on shipping reliable solutions and improving developer productivity.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills; you thrive in cross-functional environments.
