Lead the productization of AlpaSim and AlpaDreams technologies. Oversee architecture integration, manage team performance, and transform prototypes into reliable tools, focusing on developer experience and production excellence.
The summary above was generated by AI

Simulations are transforming due to AI. Handcrafted game-engine simulators are being replaced by neural simulations, involving data-driven scene reconstruction and AI-generated environments. These advances enable testing and training in driving and robotics at levels of fidelity and scale not seen before. NVIDIA's AlpaDreams model and AlpaSim stack are redefining the baseline for next-generation simulation.

We are seeking an engineering leader to productize these outstanding technologies. You will build a team and transform innovative research in neural rendering, simulation, and learning into a durable, modular, production-level platform. This position connects research and production — requiring deep technical expertise to evaluate research and practical skill to deliver a world-class platform. You'll work alongside outstanding research teams and NVIDIA leadership. If turning breakthrough research into something developers rely on every day sounds like the best job you can envision, we'd love to talk!

What you'll be doing:

  • Establish AlpaSim and AlpaDreams as the open-source standard for neural simulation in AV, and scale the team and community to get there.

  • Integrate the most recent findings in neural rendering, simulation, and learning into a modular architecture that allows for quick investigation of this field.

  • Own product and engineering excellence — performance, scalability, reliability, developer experience, CI/CD, release management.

  • Partner with research teams to translate breakthroughs into production-ready platform capabilities.

  • Lead the research-to-production pipeline: transform delicate prototypes into reliable tools that developers can rely on.

What we need to see:

  • Demonstrated record of meaningful achievements in the Graphics, Simulation, Robotics, Machine Learning, or AV fields.

  • 12+ overall years experience, 5+ years leading teams.

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

  • Demonstrated experience turning research-stage systems into dependable, scalable products.

  • Strong understanding of ML frameworks, distributed systems, and production infrastructure.

  • Results-focused leadership -- you build the process, hit the dates, and hold the quality bar.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Direct experience with AV simulation platforms like CARLA, Applied Intuition, dSPACE, or internal OEM tools is a huge plus.

  • Experience across the AV ecosystem -- OEMs, Tier-1s, startups, research labs -- and understanding what they actually need from a simulation platform.

  • Previous work on neural rendering, differentiable simulation, or generative world models.

  • Experience building developer ecosystems or research communities around open-source projects.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 272,000 USD - 431,250 USD for Level 4, and 320,000 USD - 488,750 USD for Level 5.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.

Applications for this job will be accepted at least until May 2, 2026.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
