SALARY:  $104,800-$124,450, bonus and long-term incentive eligible

ROLE SUMMARY: 

We are seeking a passionate and data-driven Category, Senior Manager to join our Large Format team, specifically Albertson's -West. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering actionable insights, identifying growth opportunities, and making data-driven recommendations across assortment and space planning. You will play a key role in shaping the future of the beer category by translating analysis into clear strategies that drive performance for both internal stakeholders and external partners.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Lead, empower and drive strong engagement supporting work streams centered around both consumer analytics and planograms space analytics/design throughout the entire annual shelf set cycle

  • Lead and develop team of Assistant Category Managers

  • Build positive relationship with retailer as trusted Category advisor across all areas of the Beer business by proactively seeing opportunities and communicating actionable solutions

  • Optimally communicate, handle and prioritize workload for the team

  • Develop impactful category analyses and customize shopper insights using a range of syndicated and non-syndicated data sources and content from our Center of Excellence

  • Synthesize takeaways from various sources to build clear and impactful stories in a visually appealing manner

  • Develop category strategy recommendations to drive growth based upon found opportunities

  • Develop and apply pricing tools to identify market opportunities

  • Pro-actively identify and communicate market level opportunities using standard weekly dashboarding

  • Provide space allocation and assortment recommendations

  • Analyze and recommend display and promotional optimization opportunities

  • Optimally educate internal teammates and external customers on growth opportunities through clear and impactful communications

ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Experience in JDA space planning software

  • Sophisticated proficiency applying Microsoft Excel to manipulate and prioritize data

  • Sophisticated proficiency using Microsoft PowerPoint to prioritize and visualize the story line for presentations

  • Strong familiarity with syndicated data, software, and measures (IRI, Nielsen, etc.)

  • Strong familiarity with shopper panel information data, software and measures (IRI, Nielsen, Numerator, Retailer Loyalty data, etc.)

  • Ability to understand information, develop insights and see opportunities when analyzing large data sets

  • Ability to translate findings and recommendations into a concise and effective selling story

  • Ability to expertly present insights, opportunities, and recommendations to internal or external partners in a persuasive manner

  • Proficiency in data cleansing

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

JOB QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in business/marketing highly preferred

  • Location : Seattle, WA; Boise, ID; Dallas, TX.

  • Previous experience with consumer packed goods category management, sales, or syndicated research

  • Understanding of DSD, 3-tier system, and a strong knowledge of the retail environment

  • Strong analytical skills with all types of data, addressing retail customers, and computer proficiency

  • Strong background in category management tools, processes, and business consulting

  • Understanding of shopper research and insights, familiarity with syndicated data, software, and measures

  • Excellent follow-up, communication, presentation, and leadership skills
