The Senior Manager, ERP and Accounting Systems will lead the design, governance, and optimization of the organization’s global financial systems and reporting architecture. This role owns the structural foundation of the company’s financial data in the ERP and accounting systems—including chart of accounts (COA), departments/cost centers, legal entities, and related master data—ensuring scalability, integrity, and alignment with global accounting policies and reporting requirements.
Serving as a strategic bridge between Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and IT, this leader will drive enterprise-wide ERP transformation initiatives with a primary focus on corporate accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance. The role is accountable for translating accounting policy and reporting requirements into robust, compliant, and scalable ERP system designs that support statutory reporting, management reporting, consolidation, and period-end close processes.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise in financial systems, a strong understanding of global accounting principles, and the ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects from design through execution.
What You’ll Do
COA, Department, and Legal Entity Governance and Optimization- Serve as the global data steward for the Chart of Accounts (COA), departments/cost centers, legal entities, and related financial master data, leading controllership’s ownership for design, governance, and ongoing optimization to support accurate financial reporting.
- Drive simplification and standardization of account, department, and cost center structures across business units and geographies, ensuring consistent usage and data integrity within ERP and reporting systems.
- Develop and enforce COA governance policies, including change management and documentation processes, and review COA on a regular basis.
- Own the accuracy and maintenance of the company’s global legal entity structure within financial systems, including legal entity reconciliations and system alignment.
- Establish and enforce governance, approval, and documentation processes for financial master data changes, ensuring SOX compliance.
- Lead end-to-end ERP implementations for controllership accounting functions, including GL, intercompany, consolidations, allocations, international ledgers, and financial close, from design through go-live and stabilization.
- Translate corporate accounting, financial reporting, and compliance requirements (US GAAP/IFRS, SOX) into scalable ERP system design, configuration, and controls.
- Partner with Accounting, Finance, IT, and external system integrators to drive project execution, manage risks, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Drive change management, user adoption, and training to standardize accounting processes and improve close, reporting, and audit readiness.
- Manage internal ERP accounting team members while identifying opportunities for automation, optimization, and continuous improvement post-implementation.
- Identify, lead, and drive AI driven enhancements and functionalities
- Manage and mentor a team of analysts or specialists supporting financial data governance.
- Collaborate effectively across entire Accounting organization plus FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and IT to align structures with business goals.
- Communicate complex technical and accounting concepts clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Present recommendations and status updates to senior leadership
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
- CPA, CIA, or MBA preferred.
- 12+ years in progressive experience in accounting and finance systems, or finance transformation roles
- Prior experience managing a global COA and/or legal entity structure a public, multinational organization required.
- Experience with SOX, COSO framework, and compliance required
- Experience with multiple major ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite) and data governance tools.
- Experience with system implementations, migrations, and re-architecture
- Proven track record in managing complex cross-functional projects or transformation initiatives
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with agility towards ambiguity
The base salary range for this role is $135,000 to $198,000. The starting salary will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. We strive for both market alignment and internal equity when determining compensation. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package includes a discretionary bonus, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits program (all based on eligibility).
