We are looking for a Senior Manager of Consumer Insights (Product). As part of the Insights and Planning team, you’ll play a critical role in delivering strategic consumer insights to support Oura’s product development and innovation pipeline. You will work cross-functionally to translate consumer needs into actionable insights that shape our hardware and software products. You will have accountability for leading, planning, implementing custom strategic market research and must also draw from a variety of information sources and internal/external resources to develop insights that provide a competitive advantage for Oura. You will collaborate closely with your Insights and Planning team, as well as third-party vendors to oversee the execution of research and analysis that provokes action. 

Success requires an individual to think strategically, connecting the dots of the bigger picture, as well as being comfortable in the details of key deliverables. You must be self-motivated, comfortable working in a global, fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment. 

What you will do: 

  • Consumer Insights Strategy: Develop and execute the consumer insights strategy that addresses the dynamic needs of Oura’s product portfolio, with a focus on member experience, product usability, and long-term member satisfaction. Deliver actionable insights that directly influence product strategies and roadmaps and help to drive product decisions and ensure alignment of product and feature offerings with consumer needs.
  • Market and Consumer Research: Oversee the design, execution, analysis and reporting of consumer research, leveraging quantitative and qualitative methods (e.g., idea screening, MaxDiff, conjoint, concept testing, segmentation, focus groups, user interviews, etc.). Flex approach and methodologies as needed to suit timelines, risk levels, and project needs. Manage external research partners to deliver.
  • Voice of the Customer: Ensure ongoing monitoring and sharing of customer sentiment via ownership of Oura’s NPS Study, New Member Tracking Study and the Member Community. Partner with teams across the organization to answer the highest priority questions and highlight issues and opportunities.
  • Executive Reporting & Communication: Present research findings to C-suite executives and other senior stakeholders in clear, concise formats, distilling relevant information into implications that answer the ever-critical question: “So what?
  • Product Development Lifecycle: Partner closely with product teams throughout the product lifecycle, including:
    • Supporting strategy development and prioritization 
    • Identifying actionable segmentation and persona development 
    • Assessing competitor offerings to identify differentiators, gaps, and innovation opportunities
    • Supporting innovation and ideation with primary and secondary research to optimize product and features and maximize chances for success 
    • Evaluating post-launch member experience from a member perspective

This is a remote US role with a slight preference for candidates based in the Eastern Time Zone. 

Requirements

We would love to have You on our team, if you have:

  • 7+ years of experience in consumer insights, market research, or product strategy within a technology or consumer-facing company
  • Strong experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including survey design, focus groups, user interviews and ethnography. Experience with consumer segmentation, data analytics, and behavioral data
  • Proficiency with research tools (e.g., survey platforms, like Qualtrics, Survey Monkey). Comfort with data analysis (using Excel, SPSS) and statistical methods. Tableau, Amplitude a plus.
  • Energetic and passionate champion of the customer
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex insights in a clear, engaging, and impactful manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Unmatched ability to get things done, move mountains, roll up your sleeves and unblock tricky situations with empathy, intelligence and drive
  • Travel within the USA and occasionally to Finland may be required

Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

  • Region 1 : $182,000 - $228,000
  • Region 2 : $169,000 - $211,000
  • Region 3 : $159,000 - $199,000
