We are known for our expertise, innovation, and commitment to delivering exceptional value to our clients. Our people work side by side with clients to identify, address, and resolve key operational and technology challenges within alternative investments and financial services firms.

Collaboration and support are at the heart of what we do, and we look for consultants who embody these values and bring firsthand experience in the challenges and enabling technologies that drive success in alternatives.

The Opportunity

The Senior Manager serves as the engagement lead within Alpha Alternatives’ Data Strategy segment, accountable for delivering complex, multi-workstream private markets transformation programs. Operating within the Front & Middle Office team, the Senior Manager leads enterprise-wide initiatives spanning front-, middle-, and back-office workflows and core private markets data domains such as Client, Fund, Investment, Deal, Portfolio Company, Exposure, Performance, Cashflows, and Valuations. Senior Managers translate firm-wide business priorities into unified data strategy constructs, governance frameworks, operating models, and conceptual architecture guidance. As the primary day-to-day advisor to business and technology leadership, the Senior Manager ensures alignment across stakeholders, drives the project narrative, and delivers cohesive, executive-ready solutions that support scalable, governed, modern data capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Serve as overall engagement lead, managing multi-workstream delivery and acting as the primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders.
  • Own the end-to-end engagement narrative, ensuring current state, target state, governance, operating model, and roadmap form a cohesive strategy.
  • Lead executive-level client interactions, including Steer Cos, workshops, and cross-functional alignment sessions.
  • Direct Managers and Senior Consultants on methodology, analysis, and deliverable structure, ensuring consistency and quality across workstreams.
  • Validate findings, synthesize enterprise-wide insights, and translate complex issues into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Guide target-state operating model and roadmap development, aligning roles, governance, workflows, and business–technology architecture.
  • Manage risks, scope, and escalations; mentor team members; and partner with Directors and Partners on future-phase strategy.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 9 –12+ years of experience in consulting, data strategy, private markets, asset management, or large-scale transformation initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, multi-workstream programs end-to-end with strong client and executive stakeholder management.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise data strategy, including operating models, governance, domain modeling, stewardship, and architecture alignment.
  • Advanced understanding of private markets operations and data flows across the full investment lifecycle and front-, middle-, and back-office functions.
  • Strong working knowledge of modern cloud-native data platforms, sufficient to guide business-led architectural direction.
  • Demonstrated success coaching and developing high-performing consulting teams while ensuring delivery quality.
  • Excellent executive communication, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving skills, with a product-oriented, enterprise-value mindset.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Learning and development: Vast opportunities to self-development, unlimited access to LinkedIn Learning
  • Flexible working: Work-life balance with flexible schedule
  • Community events: We offer a range of social events and meetups
  • 25 days’ holiday in addition to public holidays
  • Supplemented medical, dental and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Wellness initiatives to promote healthy working, including a gym reimbursement for those enrolled in our medical plans and an allowance for remote working technology
  • Access to discounted travel, tickets, events, and more through our benefit partner

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
