About Salesforce

We’re Salesforce, the Customer Company, inspiring the future of business with AI+ Data +CRM. Leading with our core values, we help companies across every industry blaze new trails and connect with customers in a whole new way. And, we empower you to be a Trailblazer, too — driving your performance and career growth, charting new paths, and improving the state of the world. If you believe in business as the greatest platform for change and in companies doing well and doing good – you’ve come to the right place.

Salesforce is seeking a strategic and innovative Senior Manager of Employee Listening. In this role, you’ll be part of a team responsible for delivering research, insights, and programs related to: engagement surveys, lifecycle surveys, sample surveys / pulses, and passive/ambient data streams. You’ll partner with and influence collaborators across our Employee Success (ES) function to enable deep understanding of employee experience — and to steer changes where needed. You’ll leverage best-in-class technology to assess sentiment among employees and prompt changes where needed. The ideal candidate will have experience organizing and delivering real-time, holistic, actionable employee listening programs at-scale. We are moving beyond traditional surveys at Salesforce and are looking for candidates ready to dive into passive/ambient/unstructured datasets, automated pulsing, nudge systems, and agent-first (vs. dashboard-first) user experiences.Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development & Execution: Contribute to the vision, strategy, and roadmap for employee listening, ensuring alignment with business and ES priorities.
  • Program Design & Delivery: Execute on a holistic set of employee listening programs - ensuring high-quality, on-time, and well-coordinated execution.
  • Data Analysis, Storytelling & Change Leadership: Produce high-complexity analyses, research studies, and frameworks - translating findings into compelling narratives and clear recommendations that steer action and influence leadership decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ensure alignment with HR colleagues, business leaders, communications partners, and our technology teams to integrate employee insights into broader organizational strategies.
  • Enablement & Capability Building: Provide support to HR business partners, people leaders, and employees about effectively interpreting and acting on listening insights. Produce toolkits, training, and self-service analytics to drive data fluency and impact.
  • Innovation & Industry Expertise: Maintain strong technical knowledge in employee listening, people analytics, and organizational research trends — highlighting innovative approaches, next practices, and competitive advantage to Salesforce.
  • Team Development: Lead project teams and mentor junior team members, driving a high-performing and innovative culture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master’s preferred) in a field emphasizing people research in organizations, such as Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Sociology, or Organizational Development.
  • Experience: 7+ years leading large-scale employee listening programs at a global organization, with demonstrated expertise in survey design, analytics, and translating insights into action.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau), survey platforms (e.g. Perceptyx), and statistical analysis techniques (e.g. structural equation modeling, large language models for sentiment/open text analysis). Experience analyzing and delivering insights at-scale with unstructured data streams is required.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex data into clear, compelling narratives and to influence stakeholders at all levels.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
