Clearance:

Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis and have the ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance. 

Job Description:

In this position as a Senior Manager, Federal Financial Reporting, you will lead federal financial reporting activities, manage contract performance, and serve as a key liaison between government stakeholders, auditors, and program leadership. You will oversee reporting cycles, ensure compliance with federal financial requirements, and deliver high-quality, audit-ready financial reporting packages. In this position, you will also:

  • Manage staffing, work assignments, schedules, deliverables, risks, meeting cadence, and overall contract performance.
  • Lead or review federal financial statements, footnotes, trial balances, adjusted trial balances, edit checks, flux analyses, and financial reporting packages.
  • Review deliverables for accuracy, completeness, consistency, clarity, and audit-readiness prior to submission.
  • Coordinate responses to audit inquiries, Prepared by Client (PBC) requests, corrective action items, and auditor follow-up activities.
  • Prepare or review monthly status reports, dashboards, leadership briefings, issue papers, and executive updates.
  • Identify reporting, audit, compliance, and operational risks and drive corrective actions through resolution.
  • Serve as the primary interface with Government stakeholders, auditors, and internal leadership teams.
  • Provide oversight of financial reporting activities to ensure compliance with OMB Circular A-136, USSGL, FASAB, Treasury reporting requirements, and other applicable federal financial management guidance.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience supporting federal financial reporting, financial statement preparation, Treasury reporting, GTAS submissions, and audit readiness.
  • 5+ years of experience applying OMB Circular A-136, USSGL, FASAB standards, and federal accounting principles.
  • 5+ years of experience leading federal financial management teams, audit support activities, quality control reviews, client engagements, and executive communications.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience supporting federal credit reform accounting and credit program financial reporting.
  • Experience supporting CFO Act agencies and annual financial statement audits.
  • Experience with federal financial systems, ERP platforms, and data analytics tools.
  • Experience developing process improvements and reporting automation initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, program management, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), or Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) is strongly preferred.

At Blake Willson Group, we believe in transparency and fairness in compensation practices. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $160,000 in the United States. Your individual salary within this range will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to your education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
