The Senior Manager-HRIS is responsible for the strategic oversight, implementation, and optimization of the organization’s Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS). This role provides strategic leadership and manages the HRIS team to ensure systems support business needs and align with company objectives. Key responsibilities include maintaining the accuracy and integrity of employee data, designing and generating reports, and delivering technical support for HR processes and initiatives. The position requires direct interaction with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

  • Oversee and maintain optimal function of the organization’s HR information systems, including database management, network support, installation, customization, development, maintenance, and system upgrades.
  • Manage internal database files, tables, codes, backup files, and ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security.
  • Install, implement, modify, and upgrade software and applications to meet evolving business and technology needs.
  • Lead, support, and develop the HRIS team to achieve operational and strategic objectives.
  • Develop, generate, deliver and assist with complex reports, summaries, and logs for management, HR team and other departments as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with data security, privacy and regulatory reporting requirements, completing submissions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Leads the HRIS team in providing technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HR team and employees throughout the organization.
  • Partner with leadership, HR staff, and other departments to identify system improvements and enhancements; recommend and implement solutions.
  • Manage permissions, access, personalization, and system settings for HR services users.
  • Develop custom functions and documentation such as automated queries, filters, macros, and reports.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of HRIS projects, including planning, configuration, testing, deployment, integrations and post-implementation support for HR systems and the wind-down of legacy systems.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of HRIS and data management experience, including at least 5 years in a people management role.
  • Proven experience with enterprise-level HRIS platforms (Dayforce strongly preferred).
  • HR experience in a large, multi-regional organization; global experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills. Power BI experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes, data management, best practices, and compliance standards (including GDPR and Quebec Law 25).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and present data to support decision-making.
  • Ability to bring immediate credibility to the HRIS team through integrity, collaboration abilities, professional qualifications and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English. Proficient in written and spoken Spanish preferred.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Data Management Software and Data integration Platforms preferred
  • Industry experience in shipping, logistics, transportation, or maritime sectors preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes


Work Environment:

  • Exposure to computer screens.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The position is a hybrid position, requiring an in-office environment with a minimum of three (3) days a week.
  • Will be required to travel domestically or internationally up to 15% and work as needed after core business hours.
  • Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment.

Pay Range

$135,000 - 160,000 per year

Compensation & BenefitsEligible employees (and their families) may qualify for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as having basic life and accidental death insurance, paid disability insurance, including paid parental leave if eligible, and an Employee Assistance Program. Employees will receive paid sick and vacation time, and company holidays if eligible. The company also offers paid bereavement leave, and paid jury duty. Eligible employees can enroll in our company's 401k plan, as well as a retirement plan. Employees will be eligible for discretionary and/or metric-based bonuses dependent on their position.
