Job Description

As a Senior Manager of Internal Communications, you will lead the team responsible for engaging, educating, and inspiring Nordstrom’s network of over 55,000 store, supply chain, and corporate employees. This role will work closely with leaders and teams across the business to understand the needs of Nordstrom’s distinct employee audiences and deliver thoughtful, creative, and comprehensive communication programs that better connect frontline and corporate employees to the company’s key priorities. Effective programs will strengthen our employees’ connection to the business, support our culture, empower employees to be more successful in their roles and serving customers, and enhance our ability to attract and retain top talent.  

  

A day in the life…  

  • Develop and implement thoughtful, connected, and responsive communications programs in support of Nordstrom’s business rhythms, key priorities, change management programs, and employee programs and events. 

  • Drive employee connection to Nordstrom’s purpose, strategic vision, and ways of working, encouraging a sense of belonging and engagement. 

  • Provide strategic advice and counsel to senior leaders and subject matter experts on communication best practices and approaches. 

  • Maintain a strong understanding of organizational communication needs, including structure and audience profiles, to determine the appropriate channel, medium, and distribution approach for communication.  

  • Develop engaging content for a variety of communication channels, including email, intranet, video, live events, and other digital channels. 

  • Track and measure communication effectiveness and provide input on ways to improve communication initiatives. 

 

You own this if you have…  

  • 8-10 years of experience in communications  

  • A proactive and strategic mindset, openness to trying new things and flexibility to change course.  

  • The ability to manage complex projects with multiple partners and competing deadlines, navigating conflict and driving consensus.  

  • A clear understanding of Nordstrom's voice and culture. 

  • A passion for improving and sustaining employee engagement. 

  • Experience with various communication channels (e.g., intranet, email, video, employee events). 

  • Knowledge of internal communication best practices. 

  • Experience with employee engagement surveys and data analysis. 

  • Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills. 

  • Experience managing a team. 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $110,000 - $210,000 AnnuallyThis position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
