About the Role

This is Opendoor's growth infrastructure architect role—you'll design and build the tracking infrastructure, automation systems, and operational tools that make paid and SEO traffic efficient, testable, and scalable. Your job is to build the tracking infrastructure that makes every dollar accountable, eliminate manual work through automation, and enable a lean marketing team to operate with speed and precision while managing millions in annual paid media spend.

You'll own the technical plumbing that makes marketing work: conversion tracking that connects every touchpoint to outcomes (GTM, CAPI, server-side tracking), automation that eliminates manual work (budget alerts, campaign QA, workflow tools), operational insights that drive daily optimization decisions, and landing page infrastructure that enables rapid testing. That means: accurate event tracking across paid and organic, automated budget/performance monitoring, quick analyses for the acquisition team, and AI-assisted page creation at scale. You'll also drive cross-functional initiatives with Engineering, Product, and Growth Science teams to get critical tracking and infrastructure work prioritized.

Core Responsibilities1. Conversion Tracking & Tag Management
  • Own Google Tag Manager and server-side tracking across Opendoor properties
  • Implement and maintain CAPI (Facebook, TikTok), enhanced conversions (Google), and offline conversion tracking to ensure accurate conversion data flows to ad platforms
  • Partner with Engineering on Segment event tracking implementation, maintain event taxonomy documentation, and QA/troubleshoot tracking issues
2. Marketing Automation & Operational Efficiency
  • Build automated budget pacing alerts, overspend warnings, and performance anomaly detection (CTR drops, conversion drops, spend spikes)
  • Create campaign creation workflows, templates, and QA automation for launch checks (broken links, missing UTMs, tracking validation)
  • Automate repetitive operational tasks using Gumloop, Python scripts or Claude Code to 10x team velocity
  • Train team on AI tools and self-serve automation workflows for landing page and ad copy creation
3. Cross-Channel Performance Insights
  • Partner closely with the Acquisition team to provide them with actionable insights to improve ROAS
  • Provide operational campaign analysis, answer ad-hoc performance questions, and surface optimization opportunities across paid and SEO channels
  • Build analyses to inform budget allocation and channel decisions in partnership with Growth Science
4. Landing Page Infrastructure & Experimentation
  • Design and build scalable landing page infrastructure to support paid campaigns (digital, traditional) and programmatic SEO
  • Build standardized page templates that AI tools (Claude, Midjourney, Copy.ai) populate with content at scale, enabling 10x faster page creation
  • Design and execute A/B tests for landing pages, paid creative, and on-site experiences using platforms like Amplitude or in-platform channel UIs
  • Partner with SEO Lead and Data Science on technical infrastructure, measurement planning, and incrementality testing
Who You AreTechnical Skills:
  • Expert in GTM, GA4, conversion tracking (CAPI, enhanced conversions, server-side tagging), and experimentation platforms (Amplitude, Optimizely, VWO)
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript to architect landing page systems and leverage AI coding tools for implementation
  • Proficient with automation tools (Zapier, Gumloop, Make, Python/JS scripting)
  • Experience with APIs, webhooks, Segment/CDP platforms, and SQL for campaign analysis
Experience:
  • 7+ years in growth marketing operations supporting performance teams at scale (millions in spend)
  • Track record building infrastructure (not campaigns) that scales team efficiency 2-3x through automation, testing frameworks, and AI-powered systems
  • Proven ability to drive work through Product/Engineering teams without direct authority and influence roadmaps
  • Deep expertise in experimentation, landing page optimization, and programmatic page generation at scale
Mindset:
  • Infrastructure builder: Design scalable systems that eliminate entire categories of manual work
  • AI-native: Proven track record using AI to 10x output
  • High agency senior IC: You architect solutions, prototype independently, and build them yourself
Bonus Points:
  • Experience in high-consideration, high-value transactional businesses (real estate, auto, financial services)
  • Built marketing automation workflows that measurably increased team velocity or reduced CAC
  • Experience with headless CMS architectures for scalable page deployment
  • Proficiency with design tools (Figma) or AI tools for rapid prototyping
  • Experience with dynamic content systems, or A/B testing at scale
  • Background in analytics engineering or data visualization (Tableau, Looker, Mode)

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
