About the Role:

Operations is one of CoreWeave's largest and most operationally complex functions, spanning IT, supply chain, and data center operations, and it is scaling rapidly across new geographies and sites. We are looking for a Director, People Business Partner to own the strategic partnership with Operations senior leadership and to build and lead a team of People Business Partners that delivers consistent, high-quality people support across a growing, globally distributed organization.

This is a player-coach leadership role. The right person moves fluidly between executive-level strategy and the operational details, builds credibility fast with senior operational leaders, and has partnered a mixed hourly and salaried workforce at scale. They thrive in high-volume, ambiguous, hypergrowth environments and hold a high bar of accountability for themselves and the team they lead.

Your Impact Will Be Felt Across Various Dimensions

  • Strategic Partnership: Serve as the most senior People partner to Operations leadership, embedded in strategic planning, workforce decisions, and org design as we scale globally.
  • Build and Lead the PBP Team: Develop, and lead a team of People Business Partners across the Operations organization, setting the standard for consistent, high-quality people and business support as the function scales.
  • Expansion: Lead PBP workstreams on geographic expansion in partnership with internal People teams. Build support that scales with a repeatable model as new sites and regions come online, while remaining agile as priorities shift.
  • Workforce Planning: Advise Operations leaders on organizational design as teams grow. Work with Talent Acquisition and Finance to turn growth plans into headcount plans that account for how AI and automation impact the roles so we build the right level mix for the long term.
  • Senior Leadership Development: Partner with Operations leaders on executive development, coaching, and succession planning for the senior leadership population.
  • Talent Calibration: Drive talent mapping and calibration for Ops leadership, holding the bar on job architecture and leveling in order to reward and recognize fairly and consistently.
  • People Risk & Workplace Advisory: Consult on complex people matters, balancing risk, speed, and business practicality.

What You Bring

  • Significant HR Business Partner experience, including building and leading a team of HRBPs or People Partners.
  • Proven partnership in an operations, data center, manufacturing, logistics, retail, or field environment. This blended-population experience is essential to the role.
  • A track record of scaling or standing up people support across new geographies, sites, or facilities.
  • The range to operate as both a strategic advisor to senior leaders and a hands-on partner in the day-to-day, switching context easily between the two.
  • Depth in org design, workforce planning, talent calibration, leveling, and job architecture, grounded in data.

Wondering if you're a good fit?

We believe in investing in our people and value candidates who can bring their own diverse experiences to our teams, even if you aren't a 100% skill or experience match. Here are a few qualities we've found make people thrive here:

  • Be Curious at Your Core: You ask thoughtful questions, seek to understand root causes, and apply learnings to improve outcomes.
  • Act Like an Owner: You take responsibility for your cases and follow through with care and attention to detail.
  • Empower Employees: You champion an equitable employee experience by coaching leaders and ensuring employees feel heard, supported, and treated fairly.
  • Deliver Best-in-Class Client Experiences: You approach managers, employees, and cross-functional partners with professionalism, empathy, and consistency, ensuring they feel supported in even the most challenging moments.
  • Achieve More Together: You collaborate seamlessly with People Business Partners and other People teams, recognizing that the best solutions come from working as one team with shared goals.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
