The Community You Will Join: 

This position is employed by Airbnb Inc., however the role will provide direct support to Airbnb.org, an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit that focuses on emergency response and provides temporary housing for people in times of crisis. Airbnb.org is governed by an independent Board of Directors and its mission is to provide emergency housing in times of crisis. From Australia to France, hosts have offered to open up their homes and helped provide accommodations to over 250,000 people. The Difference You Will Make:

As the Senior Manager, Program Expansion, you will be responsible for launching a new program called the Platform Access program. This program will focus on opening the Airbnb.org platform to nonprofits to book discounted Airbnb stays for a wide range of needs. 

We aim to create the world’s first marketplace for nonprofit housing needs, fully leveraging the Airbnb platform of millions of hosts and homes. This will significantly grow impact globally, with the ultimate goal of bringing on thousands of nonprofit organizations around the world and benefiting millions of guests. We believe this will allow Airbnb.org to scale its impact and expand our reach to address a broad array of critical needs. This program will need to be designed and built from the ground up. 

In order to achieve this vision, we are seeking a new leader to design and launch this program alongside bringing on nonprofit partners to use the product. This leader will have experience launching a program or business and growing it. You have business development and marketplace experience with growing both supply and demand.

We are a small team in startup mode, so you’ll need to be a seasoned leader willing to both set the strategy and roll up your sleeves to get the work done.

A Typical Day: 

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to launch the Platform Access program, ensuring alignment with Airbnb.org’s mission and goals.
  • Design program policies, operational workflows, and technical requirements to support nonprofits in accessing discounted Airbnb.org stays.
  • Identify, engage, and onboard nonprofit organizations globally, focusing on high-impact partnerships that align with the program’s goals.
  • Develop enablement materials for nonprofits to onboard and understand the value and benefits of the program.
  • Create and implement strategies to scale the Platform Access program to thousands of nonprofits and millions of beneficiaries worldwide.
  • Define and analyze key metrics, monitor program performance,  and iterate on strategies to drive exponential growth.
  • Work closely with other Airbnb.org teams, including operations, product, engineering, and legal to develop and enhance platform capabilities for nonprofit use.
  • Coordinate with Airbnb.org’s fundraising and communications teams to ensure consistent messaging and resource alignment.
  • Ensure program compliance with legal and financial regulations across global markets.
  • Serve as a thought leader, identifying innovative opportunities to enhance and grow the program and meet evolving nonprofit housing needs.

Your Expertise:

  • Proven experience launching and scaling a program, product, or business from concept to large-scale implementation.
  • Familiarity with marketplace models, ideally with a focus on connecting supply and demand in a scalable and sustainable way.
  • Understanding of nonprofit operations and funding models, with experience in collaborations within the social impact sector.
  • Experience in building partnerships with a technical solution.
  • Experience working with international stakeholders and navigating the complexities of global program implementation.
  • Experience scaling with technology, balancing growth, automation, and efficiency
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to translate program needs into technical requirements for platform enhancements.
  • Experience in business development, product management, or marketplace operations.

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. How We'll Take Care of You:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
