About ALSO.

We’re ALSO, an electric mobility company originally conceived as a part of Rivian. We’re a passionate team of builders, dreamers, doers and innovators, focused on creating entirely new (not to mention, innovative and delightful) vertically integrated, small EVs designed to meet the global mobility challenges of today and tomorrow. Our mission is to inspire everyone to ride ALSO—replacing many local car, truck and SUV miles with ones on vehicles that are more affordable, more enjoyable and 10-50x more efficient.

ALSO is seeking a Senior Manager, Public Relations to help shape our global communications strategy while owning execution and results across the Americas.

In this role, you will partner closely with communications leadership to define how ALSO shows up in the world—helping to craft our narrative, sharpen our messaging, and identify the stories that matter most. You will then bring that strategy to life across the United States to begin, and eventually to Canada, driving high-impact earned media programs that support our business and brand.

This is a highly cross-functional and visible role, working across product, marketing, policy, and leadership teams, as well as managing agency partners. It’s an opportunity for a strong operator to step into broader strategic ownership and grow into a Director-level role over time. Success in this role will be defined by your ability to influence direction, execute with excellence, and deliver measurable impact across key markets.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with communications leadership to help define ALSO’s global PR strategy, messaging, and narrative.

  • Translate global priorities into clear, actionable plans across the Americas, owning end-to-end execution and results across the region, ensuring high-quality, consistent output.

  • Lead a steady drumbeat of announcements, including funding, partnerships, product launches, and company milestones.

  • Run an efficient always-on press office—including product seeding, product reviews cycles, seasonal/cultural PR moments, and signature story placements.

  • Lead media events, tailoring for cultural fit while leveraging global toolkits. Oversee logistics including spokesperson prep, supplier management, guest list curation, and agency coordination.

  • Cultivate strong relationships with media and cultural stakeholders across the Americas to maximize earned opportunities.

  • Optimize agency and vendor mix, ensuring resourcing is efficient and fit for purpose across the region.

  • Manage the regional budget—allocating resources effectively and tracking spend against plan.

  • Track, measure, and report results, working with global teams to demonstrate clear ROI and apply learnings.

  • Stay ahead of media, cultural, and industry trends, making proactive recommendations to increase ALSO’s visibility and differentiation and keep ALSO culturally relevant.

What You Will Bring

  • Experienced across agency and in-house: You bring 8–10+ years of experience spanning top-tier PR agencies and in-house roles at high-growth or category-defining companies.

  • Strategic and execution-focused: You’re comfortable contributing to strategy while owning execution and outcomes end-to-end

  • Exceptional storyteller: You can distill complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives that resonate externally.

  • Strong media operator: You have experience working with top-tier business, tech, and/or policy media and know how to generate meaningful coverage.

  • Trusted partner: You build strong relationships cross-functionally and can effectively support and advise cross-functional partners and key stakeholders.

  • Composed under pressure: You bring sound judgment and a calm, solutions-oriented mindset in fast-moving or ambiguous situations.

  • High standards, low ego: You care deeply about quality and elevate the work of those around you.

  • Resourceful and driven: You move quickly, take ownership, and consistently find ways to deliver results.

  • Mission-aligned: You’re excited about shaping a new category and helping define the future of autonomy and urban mobility.

  • Relationship Focus: ability to build relationships cross-functionally and across different time zones.

  • Critical Thinking: balance critical thinking with tactical execution.

  • Proficient in: Google Suite of services (sheets/drive/slides, etc) and Microsoft Office.

  • Passion For: personal enthusiasm and/or professional experience working for brands that include small EVs, cycling, outdoors, health and wellness is a plus.

The salary for this position ranges from $180,000 - $215,000 depending on experience, location, and qualifications. This role will be based out of Seattle, WA. Interested candidates must be willing to come into the office 3-5 days a week.

Perks & Benefits

  • Robust health coverage — excellent health, dental, and vision insurance covered up to 100% by ALSO, with FSA & HSA options

  • One Medical membership and dedicated insurance advocates

  • Rich fertility and family-building benefits with Progyny

  • Flexible time off

  • 401(k) match

Why ALSO.

We’re passionate about helping the world find a better way to get there—wherever it is you’re headed.

We’re located in the heart of Silicon Valley and have brought together a world-class team from some of the biggest brands in the technology, automotive, cycling, outdoor recreation and retail spaces.

Together we’re working hands-on to imagine, design and build an entirely new solution to a global set of transportation challenges.

  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
