Job Description Summary:

The Senior Manager, Publications Project Management, is responsible for supporting the management of scientific publications in alignment with brand/therapeutic area publication plans. This includes, but may not be limited to, working with internal stakeholders and vendors to manage the review and approval process, system management, and tracking and reporting of scientific publications across all therapeutic areas. He/She may also support concept alignment for new publications, and assist with encore abstracts/presentations with the regional teams.
The Senior Manager, Publications Project Management, enhances the efficiency of our operations by managing and optimizing the publication team’s systems and processes to ensure the highest quality and accuracy in the management and reporting of our publication-related activities.
The Senior Manager, Publications Project Management, ensures adherence to relevant company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and industry standards as appropriate.Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the publications review process for manuscripts developed by ex-GMA departments, such as Clinical Pharmacology, HEOR, Research and Development, etc., along with invited talks and courtesy reviews.
  • Manages publications management system PubSTRAT MAX by serving as the main point of contact for technical support, liaising with Anju as needed, generating reports to monitor timelines, ensuring publications are in correct status, and maintaining resources (e.g. addition of new reviewers/authors).
  • Provides support for new publications by circulating publication proposals to appropriate teams for review, reaching out to authors with invitations, and following up with authors for outstanding reviews, disclosures, other process steps, etc. as needed.
  • Provides support for encore congress abstracts/presentations by sharing requested abstracts/presentations with regional contacts, notifying authors of submissions and decisions from congresses, sharing final versions of abstracts and presentations with authors, assisting with the submission of encore abstracts, and assisting with the update of encore presentations (per target congress guidelines).
  • Assists with developing and maintaining the following publications-related materials/activities:
  • Project tracker(s)
  • Repository of published/presented publications
  • Update of product/therapeutic area publications plans
  • Internal newsletters
  • Project and storage folders
  • Provides support in streamlining publication process, reporting, and tracking steps by searching for and implementing solutions to improve efficiencies, in alignment with Publications and Scientific Communications team leads
  • Performs other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by manager.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate college degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare industry with a focus on scientific publications
  • Proven project management skills
  • Track record of executing in a matrix environment working across multiple functional areas
  • Understanding of Good Publication Practices (GPP4) and other relevant publications industry standards (ICMJE, CONSORT, etc.), Sunshine Act, relevant Codes of Conduct (e.g. PhRMA, EFPIA), and other guidance related to post-marketing practices and scientific data communication.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management and organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment consisting of internal and external team members.
  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with PubStrat MAX and/or other publication management tools.
  • Proficiency with Zoom and other video conferencing platforms.
  • Profiency with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).

 Travel requirements: 0-10%

Expected Base Salary Range:

$131,300 – $165,300. The base salary offered will be contingent on assessment of candidate education level, background, and experience relative to the requirements of the position they are being considered for, as well as review of internal equity.

In addition to base salary, PTC employees are also eligible for short- and long-term incentives. All eligible employees may also enroll in PTC’s medical, dental, vision, and retirement savings plans.
