Maybell Quantum is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to develop and design the next generation in quantum infrastructure. Our ideal team member can excel in a fast-paced hardware-based startup environment. They possess excellent technical and analytical skills and can effectively manage small projects while collaborating across departments

Responsibilities

  • Determine technical specifications for sub-systems and components to meet overall product development requirements
  • Collaborate across teams and departments to determine root cause of issues, identify corrective actions, and implement design changes to improve existing products and processes
  • Create complex mechanical designs, drawings and documentation for parts and assemblies following DFX principles to develop the most efficient and high-quality products.
  • Maintain ownership over sub-system development and sustaining activities including project and resource planning, gathering of documentation and requirements, and execution of ECOs.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and operations to ensure a smooth transition from concept to a fully scalable high-quality product

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • 4-8 years working experience in mechanical design
  • A proven track record of bringing mechanical concepts to reality

Preferred Skills And Experience

  • Experience in Ansys or equivalent analysis software
  • Working knowledge of the ASME Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing standard
  • Experience working with product safety standards (NRTL and CE)
  • Strong hands-on experience building prototypes, test apparatus, and fixtures.
  • Machine shop and fabrication skills
  • A strong understanding of software and electrical systems to inform design decisions and product architecture
