The Role

Our client is one of the world’s leading media companies, with a 24-hour English-language news channel and they are looking for Senior Mobile Developers to join their team.
 
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of our mobile application, ensuring its optimal performance, usability, and security. You will work closely with our development team to deliver high-quality solutions. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the mobile application using React Native and other relevant technologies. 
  • Optimize the mobile application for performance, usability, and security. 
  • Stay updated with the latest mobile app development trends and emerging technologies. 
  • Collaborate with the team to identify requirements, meet project milestones, and maintain regular communication. 
  • Effectively communicate and resolve issues with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Review and enhance source code to align with project coding standards. 
  • Participate in the development of new features and provide support for existing ones. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 
  • 10+ years of professional experience. 
  • 7+ years of experience in mobile development. 
  • Proven experience as a Senior Mobile Engineer with a strong focus on React Native, iOS, and Android expertise. 
  • Proficiency in TypeScript. 
  • Strong background in Unit Testing. 
  • Solid knowledge of Git. 
  • Experience with modern CSS/Sass/Less. 
  • Understanding of SOLID principles and design patterns. 

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with connected devices (e.g., Apple TV) is a plus. 
  • Experience with GraphQL. 
  • Experience with Jest.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and automated testing. 
  • Knowledge of Github Actions.
  • Experience with pair programming. 
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum preferred) and having worked with agile teams.
  • Experience with ads, news, or Connected devices (Apple TV, etc). 

Our recruitment process

  • Recruiter interview (45 min)
  • Technical interview (45 min)
  • Screening interview with the client's hiring manager 
  • Client technical interview
  • One (maybe two) follow-up technical interviews with Senior engineers/managers from Mobile and other tech teams from the client 

We strive to move efficiently from step to step so that the recruitment process can be as fast as possible.

What we offer

  • Totally remote, full time (40h/week)
  • Flexible work hours but with a mandatory overlap with 2pm to 7pm (UTC +3)
  • No-end-date, independent contractor agreement
  • Payment in USD, biweekly or monthly - your choice
