About Neon

Neon is a global payments and e-commerce platform designed to help game publishers earn more money and independence from app stores. We believe commerce should be open and transparent: clear decisions, actionable insights, and aligned incentives. Founded by payments, fintech and gaming veterans, Neon focuses on product and partnership excellence: we share the playbook, co-pilot decisions, and abstract away risk and complexity for our customers. We’re replacing old-school, black-box relics with clear, modern, and developer-centric infrastructure.

As an early team member, you’ll have the opportunity to shape and scale Neon’s product and culture, making a direct impact on our growth and success. You’ll join a collaborative, diverse team from world-class companies like Apple, Affirm, Unity, and Visa, backed by renowned VC's including Thrive, a16z, Griffin Gaming, Ribbit, and Renegade. If you want to build disruptive technology, challenge the status quo, and help game creators thrive on their own terms, read on.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Monetisation Strategist with deep experience in player conversion and monetisation design. You’ll partner with leading mobile game studios to help them grow their business and drive GMV through Neon’s platform.

You’ll combine player psychology, design insight, and data-driven analysis to uncover conversion barriers, shape compelling offers, and refine the player journey from awareness to purchase. Working closely with Product, Customer Success, and Design, you’ll co-create monetization strategies that align with each game’s design, lifecycle, and player motivations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop scalable frameworks and playbooks that help studios unlock and sustain D2C revenue growth.

  • Partner with game teams to design and execute D2C strategies that deepen player engagement and increase monetization.

  • Analyze in-game and webshop performance to identify opportunities across payer segments, geographies, and liveops cycles.

  • Shape pricing, bundling, and loyalty strategies that align with each game’s economy and player journey.

  • Work closely with the Product, CS, and Design team to refine offer design, streamline purchase funnels, and ensure a cohesive player experience.

  • Provide product/feature requirements to Product so they can build new mechanisms to improve performance and revenue.

  • Help Marketing understand what’s working and best practices to inform Neon’s thought leadership, content marketing, case studies, and sales enablement materials.

  • Lead and contribute to growth reviews with studio stakeholders, turning insights into clear, actionable recommendations.

Attributes

  • Player-centric: You understand what motivates players to take that first step into spending.

  • Analytical: You translate player data and behavioral patterns into clear monetisation strategies.

  • Collaborative: You thrive in cross-functional environments and speak both “developer” and “business.”

  • Strategic: You focus on impact, helping partners scale sustainably, not just quickly.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years in mobile gaming, ideally within product, monetisation, or design roles.

  • Strong understanding of monetization systems, liveops, and player progression design.

  • Proven success driving payer conversion or monetisation uplift in free-to-play titles.

  • Strong understanding of player lifecycle, pricing psychology, and liveops engagement.

  • Comfortable with data tools (SQL and Amplitude).

  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence when advising partners.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
