Team Overview

The DHI Information Technology Online Scrum Team supports TransUnion’s DHI business unit by building, maintaining, and modernizing secure software applications that help enable digital insurance and telematics capabilities. The team works closely with partners across Insurance, Product Management, Project Management, and technology leadership to deliver scalable, reliable solutions that support business growth and operational effectiveness. Reporting to the Manager, Software Development. This is a remote position which may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

  • Lead development efforts for key DHI Information Technology software applications and frameworks, including the new TransUnion Telematics project, to support business priorities across Insurance, Product Management, and Project Management.
  • Serve as a technical leader for the DHI Information Technology Online Scrum Team, helping guide solution design, architecture decisions, delivery planning, and engineering best practices.
  • Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, maintain, and support secure enterprise applications using the Microsoft .NET framework and modern software engineering practices.
  • Partner with stakeholders and senior leaders to define technical direction, align development work to business outcomes, and help prioritize complex initiatives in a fast-paced delivery environment.
  • Build and support complex integrations and external connections with third-party business partners, with a focus on reliability, scalability, performance, and security.
  • Maintain and enhance end-to-end continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, including automated testing, repeatable deployments, and continuous security scanning across environments.
  • Apply a security-first software development lifecycle (SDLC) approach by using secure coding practices, supporting vulnerability remediation, and aligning work to internal policies, regulatory expectations, and industry standards.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend technologies, tools, and design approaches that can improve development productivity, application performance, maintainability, and cloud cost optimization.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve software defects and application issues in partnership with business users, technology teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Required Knowledge And Experiences

    • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), Information Systems (IS), or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, to support complex enterprise software design and delivery.
    • 5 to 8 years of experience in software development, software product engineering, or software consulting, including hands-on experience creating and maintaining applications using the Microsoft .NET technology stack.
    • Experience translating stakeholder requirements into technical specifications, estimates, application deliverables, and maintainable software solutions.
    • Experience working with business users and cross-functional stakeholders to troubleshoot application issues, support existing systems, and deliver improvements aligned to business needs.
    • Strong understanding of secure software development practices, sensitive data handling, and compliance-minded engineering to support systems that may involve regulated or confidential information.
    Required Technical Skills
    • Microsoft .NET framework, .NET Core 5 or 6, C#, Active Server Pages .NET Model-View-Controller (ASP.NET MVC), Active Server Pages .NET Web Application Programming Interface (ASP.NET Web API), and Microsoft Visual Studio.
    • Relational database development using Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Structured Query Language (SQL), schema design, querying, data access layers, and data integrity practices.
    • Continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), automated testing, deployment pipelines, and secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
    • Cloud application development and operations, with experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) preferred based on the role requirements provided.
    • Distributed systems, application performance optimization, complex integrations, external partner connections, and enterprise-grade troubleshooting.
    Preferred Skills

    • Developing and supporting .NET Core applications running on Linux-based environments.
    • Applying design patterns, dependency injection patterns, and related frameworks such as Autofac, Ninject, or Microsoft Unity.
    • Test-driven development (TDD), including writing testable code and improving automated test coverage.
    • Familiarity with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Payment Card Industry (PCI) security requirements.
    • Cloud technologies, cloud cost optimization, and emerging tools that improve software reliability, scalability, and engineering productivity.
