The Partnerships and Business Development team plays a crucial role in accelerating our offerings and expanding into new markets by building strategic partnerships that enhance brand awareness and drive product adoption.

This team oversees partnerships end-to-end, from initial agreements to product launches, while actively managing relationships to ensure long-term success. They focus on growing, measuring, and continuously improving each partnership to maximize their impact. As we expand our business, we look for the best and brightest to drive strategic business decisions. To this end, the team is looking for a Senior Partner Lead to join our Partnerships and Business Development Team focused on Airbnb’s partnership investment in sport.

The Difference You Will Make:

In this role, you will lead one of Airbnb’s partnerships with at least one major global sport entity, among other responsibilities. You will manage a large cross-functional program to activate against the sport partnership(s) with global teams, directly lead the external partner relationships and provide strategies and actionable plans to the Partnerships and Business Development leadership team.

A Typical Day: 

  • Strategic Leadership: With deep knowledge of the global sport industry, contractual rights and limitations,  opportunities and watch outs, define and establish the overarching sport partnership strategy aligned to Airbnb’s partnership, business, brand and government affairs objectives. 
  • Relationship Management:  Day-to-day partnership lead, influencing Airbnb’s sport partner(s) and other associated stakeholders and entities in line with Airbnb’s business and policy objectives. 
  • XFN Program Management: Define overarching program and workstream plan to support the strategy. Partner with global markets and all XFN teams (marketing, comms, policy, supply, experiences) on active management and delivery of the program. Set up an operating system including for leadership and executive reporting. Sets, defines and aligns program KPIs with XFN leadership and reports out to ensure program success and accountability
  • Partnership Operations & Executions : Develop and execute key program workstreams with partner and at the partner events, in partnership with Airbnb’s event operations team.
  • Executive Representation: Deliver executive-level communications, represent the team in internal and external forums, and act as a proxy for senior leadership when needed with external partners.

Your Expertise:

  • Deep subject matter expertise in global sport partnership strategy, management and execution globally (15+ years of experience)
  • Strong relationship networks  and influence with global sport properties
  • Experience working with key local government / political  stakeholders on major sporting events 
  • Creative, strategic and analytical thinker
  • Skilled in executive communication and presentation 
  • Experience managing agencies and vendors 
  • Experience living internationally and working with multinational teams
  • English required, other language skills strongly preferred 
  • US based, ability to travel frequently

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. How We'll Take Care of You:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
