NetBox Labs seeks a Senior Product Designer to help shape the next generation of our platform. We are building products on top of the NetBox data model that help network teams put their data to work, from interactive maps of their network, to compliance on network intended design, to analytics and AI-driven workflows. This role will own design across these applications and how they connect to each other. You will partner with product managers and engineers on day-to-day delivery, and with design leadership on building a design culture and scaling how design works across the company.

Who you are

Curiosity drives you. You want to understand how networks actually run and why operators work the way they do. You love rolling up your sleeves and are as happy sketching a flow, building a prototype or sitting in on a customer call. You are energized by complex technical landscapes, where dense data, expert users and messy real-world systems bring out your best work. You have a sharp eye for great design, care about craft and clarity and can explain why something works and how to make it better.

Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end design for platform applications such as Analytics, Visual Explorer, Validation, orAI-driven workflows that customers use directly in the product.

  • Design how these applications interact with each other, NetBox, and our observability products.

  • Turn complex data sets, visualizations, and workflows into clear, usable interfaces for network engineers and architects.

  • Plan and run user research, both qualitative and quantitative, and bring customer insight back to product and engineering teams.

  • Prototype ideas quickly, whether with AI tools, in code, or in Figma, to test concepts with users and engineers.

  • Design in the open. Share work early, invite critique, and keep stakeholders aligned.

  • Contribute to our design system in Figma and partner with frontend engineers on the Storybook component library.

  • Shape how the design team uses AI in its process, and challenge how we work today.

  • Help improve how we use product analytics to inform design decisions.

  • Help define the long-term vision for the platform, exploring what comes next beyond your immediate product area.

Requirements
  • 8+ years of product design experience, including enterprise-grade B2B software.

  • Experience designing for technical users, such as network, DevOps, security, or infrastructure engineers.

  • A track record of taking products from MVP to GA, including shaping the first release and carrying the design through to a launch-ready product.

  • Comfort with complex data sets, data visualization, and multi-step workflows.

  • Strong visual design and interaction design skills, shown in a portfolio.

  • Hands-on experience planning and running user research, and acting on what you learn.

  • Active, effective use of AI in your design work, with examples of how it has changed your process.

  • Prototyping skills in any form, from AI tools to code to Figma.

  • Experience working on a design team inside a scale-up, alongside other designers.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, and a habit of designing in the open.

  • Experience in improving how a team works, not just what it ships.

  • Able to work with significant overlap with US Eastern and UK hours.

Nice to have:
  • Experience designing observability, monitoring, or compliance products.

  • Experience with network management or infrastructure software.

  • Experience using product analytics tools such as PostHog to inform design.

  • Familiarity with design systems built in Figma and Storybook.

Join NetBox Labs. Help design how network teams see, trust, and act on their data.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
