About the Role

Dandy is hiring a Senior Product Designer to join our Designer Tooling Systems team. In this role, you’ll be user-obsessed, working to uncover and define user problems and craft seamless, effective design solutions for our Dandy Lab Technicians, so that they can design first-in-class restoratives for our patients.

About the team

The Design Systems team supports Dandy’s Lab Technicians who are the designers that expertly craft the final restorative products for patients. We aim to reduce their cognitive load, optimize their workflows, so that they can build products that wow every time. We also design tools that enable our customer support teams to respond quickly and efficiently, ensuring every customer interaction is as smooth as possible.

Partner with PMs, engineers, internal stakeholders, and expert restorative designers to identify and define pain points. Create innovative design solutions that streamline workflows and drive measurable outcomes.

  • Design Seamless Designer Tools
Lead the strategy and UX for end-to-end restorative design tooling. Deliver intuitive, scalable interfaces that empower internal teams to deliver high-quality results for practices and patients.

  • Iterate and Validate Designs
Use qualitative and quantitative research to iterate on your work. Conduct usability testing and integrate feedback to ensure your solutions are both user-centered and effective.

  • Advocate for user-centered design and a customer-obsessed mindset.
Champion a culture of user empathy within the team. Ensure designer tools align with both user needs and business goals, fostering continuous improvement and design excellence. You must apply a customer obsessed-lens to this space.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of product design experience, including 1–2 years focused on internal tools

  • A portfolio that showcases industry work and effective storytelling—framing problems, collaborating cross-functionally, and driving to user outcomes

  • Ability to balance business goals, data insights, and user needs to shape your design approach

  • Ability to drive strategy for your product area by grounding decisions in deep customer insights and crafting compelling narratives that align stakeholders and build buy-in.

  • Strong understanding of usability testing and applying both qualitative and quantitative data

  • Thoughtful about fidelity and time—knowing when to move fast vs. when to invest in polish

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Bonus Points For

  • Experience in dental, medical, or healthcare tech

  • Experience designing internal tools for operations or expert users

  • Experience in supply chain design (e.g., order tracking, issue debugging)

  • Experience with 3D or CAD-style design interfaces (e.g., manipulating objects in Figma, Photoshop, or 3D CAD environments)
