The Role

As a Senior Product Engineer at Summation, you will be responsible for the development of our product, collaborating closely with our CEO, CTO and Founding Designer. You will design and build efficient and reusable frontend and backend systems that drive powerful web and mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement innovative software solutions that simplify and automate financial planning. Work closely with the product team to translate business requirements into robust and scalable technical implementations.

  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers to ideate, prototype, and launch new features that meet the market needs. Ensure that the engineering perspective is articulated during product discussions and contribute to a seamless user experience.

  • Architect efficient and reusable frontend and backend systems that drive powerful web and mobile applications. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to coding standards.

  • Analyze and optimize the performance of web applications to ensure responsiveness and speed. Ensure that the product can scale to handle increasing load and complexity.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in full-stack or frontend development, with a proven track record of delivering on successful projects.

  • Proficiency in modern programming languages like TypeScript, Python, or Golang.

  • Experience with frontend frameworks such as React.js or Vue.js.

  • Experience with RESTful APIs and other service-oriented architectures.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, team collaboration, and communication abilities

Bonus Points
  • Familiarity with financial software or algorithms, understanding of basic financial models and data.

  • Experience working with geographically distributed remote teams

  • Experience developing mobile applications using React Native or equivalent frameworks

  • Contributions to open-source projects, particularly those involving financial applications
