Our Team
At Desteia, we place a high value on diverse perspectives and personal experiences at every level of our organization. Our founding team brings a wealth of experience in logistics and software development from their previous roles at companies like Tesla, Walmart, and Blend.
- Diego, our co-CEO, successfully led his previous start-up, Carrot from ideation to acquisition in addition to leading some of Blend’s Products from Series C to its IPO, as lead product manager for AI and ML
- Austin, our CTO, holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science from Stanford and spent 4 years as a senior software engineer building Blend.
- Françoise, our co-CEO, brings extensive experience in supply chain, operations, strategy and branding from companies such as Tesla, L´Oréal, LVMH and Walmart

The Role
You will design, build, maintain, and improve core product features to allow us to better serve our customers. We are looking for people in New York, the East Coast (USA), or Mexico City.
That means:
- Working directly with customers’ logistics, IT, and operations teams to deeply understand their needs and pains (customer meetings often take place in both Spanish and English, with live translation as needed)
- Lots of autonomy, using customers’ needs to guide your decision-making
- Taking end-to-end ownership of large, business-critical projects
- Working on all parts of our stack as required by your project, from frontend to backend to data/AI pipelines
- Working with cutting-edge AI tools in our product and your own development workflow
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build new core product features (Node/Typescript + Python (data) stack)
- Review code and designs from other members of the team
- Manage project timelines, communication, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
- Translate complex logistics processes into structured, automated workflows
- Document your work clearly for both customers and internal use
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Experience leading engineering projects requiring multiple engineers
- Excellent communication and documentation habits
- High autonomy and ownership; able to scope, prioritize, and deliver without heavy oversight
Bonus points if you have experience with…
- Fluency in Spanish and English
- Previous experience at an early-stage startup
- Experience with Typescript and/or Python
- Experience in supply chain, logistics, or procurement
- Familiarity with document processing, LLM-based data extraction, or ETL pipelines
