About You

You love to play chess and want to help others discover that same joy. We observe high user retention when people play chess with their friends, so one of our biggest bets is to expand our friend network with delightful social interactions. Therefore, we’re looking for someone that has worked in consumer/gaming tech who has shipped social features at scale. You must blend strong product craft with analytical rigor.

What you'll do

  • Create and drive the product roadmap for social features and other key initiatives
  • Consistently deliver impact, clearly measured through data-driven A/B experiments
  • Orchestrate the product development lifecycle, coordinating with design, engineering, QA, and marketing teams to ensure excellent user experience
  • Be creative, fun, and bold in making Chess.com a best-in-class social network
  • Effectively prioritize the team’s work through a strong sense of cost/benefit and collaboration
  • Be nimble in rapidly absorbing and incorporating feedback

Preferred Skills

  • 5+ years experience in product management
  • Experience shipping social features such as friends and messaging to millions of users
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills working in a fully distributed team
  • Sense of ownership and responsibility
  • Ability to manage a lot of projects at once and cut through the noise to ensure optimal delivery
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering on technical products
