Federato is on a mission to defend the right to efficient, equitable insurance for all. We enable insurers to provide affordable coverage to people and organizations facing the issues of today - the climate crisis, cyber-attacks, social inflation, etc. Our vision is understood and well funded by those behind Salesforce, Veeva, Zoom, Box, etc.

Federato’s AI/ML-driven platform leverages deep reinforcement learning to help insurance companies optimize the portfolio of risks they insure, allowing them to continue to provide fair and equitable pricing in difficult-to-price areas. Our category-defining ‘RiskOps’ solution drives better underwriting decisions by operationalizing underutilized data investments and surfacing real-time risk and portfolio insights. We focus on putting insurance underwriters back in the driver’s seat, helping them meet their goals while providing an important service to society.

Role Overview

As a Senior Product Manager – Content Management at Federato, you will play a pivotal role in defining the vision and driving the execution of a new product line focused on simplifying how users manage and search for content on Federato's platform. You will partner closely with design, user research, and engineering to deliver innovative solutions that address critical challenges in the insurance ecosystem.  This role requires a strategic thinker with strong business acumen, a deep understanding of the market, and the ability to effectively collaborate across functional teams.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Product Evangelism:  Effectively communicate the value proposition of the product portfolio to internal and external stakeholders.  Build strong relationships with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to support product adoption and growth.
  • Market Mastery:  Develop a deep understanding of the insurance market, including its key players, challenges, trends, and competitive landscape. Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify opportunities and threats, informing product strategy, portfolio decisions, and potential M&A opportunities.  Define and refine market segmentation to target specific user personas effectively.
  • User-Centric Approach:  Collaborate on user research activities (interviews, surveys, ethnographic research, etc.) to understand user needs, pain points, and workflows.  Synthesize research findings into actionable insights that inform product and UX strategies.  Foster strong relationships with users through user groups and other engagement methods.
  • Product Discovery & Execution:  Lead product discovery efforts to identify and validate user problems and needs.  Translate these insights into detailed requirements and user stories for engineering teams.  Prioritize the product backlog based on cost/benefit analysis and strategic alignment.  Employ agile development methodologies to ensure iterative development and continuous improvement.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:  Define and track key product metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement.  Analyze data and trends to inform product decisions and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:  Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success to align on product strategy, design direction, and go-to-market plans.  Serve as a sounding board for design and engineering teams, anticipating potential challenges and facilitating effective problem-solving.  Effectively motivate teams to deliver against the company vision.
  • Strategic Product Leadership:  Define and champion the product vision and strategy for the product, aligning it with the overall company vision and financial objectives.  Develop and maintain product roadmaps that articulate the long-term direction and prioritize initiatives based on market analysis, user needs, and business goals.
Who We Hope You Are
  • 5+ years of Product Management experience
  • 3+ years of Content Management domain experience
  • Proven track record of building successful B2B SaaS products in the content and document management space, with a strong grasp of enterprise use cases such as content lifecycle, access controls, compliance, and integration into business workflows.
  • Deep experience partnering with data science and machine learning teams to develop enterprise-grade content search and discovery solutions, including the application of relevance tuning and semantic search to drive exceptional user experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to define product opportunities, craft strategic roadmaps, and lead 0→1 product development efforts, while effectively communicating vision, progress, and trade-offs across all levels of a fast-paced, scaling organization.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering scalable solutions to complex and ambiguous user challenges, leveraging user research, data insights, and first-principles thinking to inform decisions.
  • A BA/BS degree in business, computer science, engineering, or a related field is required.
  • An MBA and experience working in the insurance or financial industry are pluses.
