ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to take ownership of the strategy, integration, and ongoing management of the internal and third-party platforms that support key components of Rightway’s PBM operations. This includes systems for claims adjudication, prior authorization, and formulary management.

This role will focus on assessing platform capabilities, optimizing vendor partnerships, and ensuring seamless integration with our internal tools and workflows. The Senior Product Manager will also play a key role in preparing our technology infrastructure to support future lines of business, including Medicare. That means thinking ahead to ensure our platforms meet emerging regulatory, operational, and client needs.

The role reports to the Director of Product and will operate with a high degree of independence. It requires someone who can take full ownership of major product initiatives, work cross-functionally across product, engineering, operations, clinical, and compliance teams, and keep everything moving without constant oversight.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Platform Evaluation and Strategy
  • Evaluate current platform capabilities and ensure alignment with business needs across claims, prior authorization, and formulary systems
  • Lead internal discovery efforts and market assessments to identify and justify new platform investments
  • Define the long-term strategy for how internal and external platforms will evolve to support operational scale, regulatory requirements, and clinical priorities
Implementation and Integration
  • Lead platform enhancements, migrations, and integration projects from requirements through go-live
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and technical teams to ensure scalable integration with internal tools
  • Document workflows, manage the backlog, and coordinate delivery through agile processes
Operational Enablement
  • Partner with clinical, operations, legal, and client success teams to ensure platforms meet workflow and regulatory requirements
  • Configure and optimize platforms to improve cost-efficiency, automation, and ease of support
  • Define and track KPIs related to system performance and reliability
Communication and Leadership
  • Act as the primary product point of contact for internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Maintain clear documentation and internal communications for platform-related changes
  • Provide structured updates to leadership and align platform work with broader PBM and product goals
  • Develop deep expertise in pharmacy technology standards and best practices
  • Stay current on industry changes and help ensure Rightway’s platforms evolve with the market

WHO YOU ARE:

Core Skills and Traits
  • Solid foundation in product management, including leading cross-functional development efforts and managing product backlogs
  • Ability to work independently and drive execution with minimal direction
  • Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
  • Detail-oriented and process-focused, with a mindset for improving and scaling workflows
  • Comfortable working across complex systems and vendor tools
  • Curious and adaptable. Willing to dive deep into unfamiliar topics and find answers
Experience
  • 5 or more years of product management experience, preferably in healthcare or enterprise technology
  • Experience managing or implementing third-party platforms, ideally in areas such as claims processing, benefit administration, or clinical operations
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving product, engineering, legal, and operations stakeholders

EXTRA CREDIT:

  • Experience working in or with PBMs or pharmacy operations
  • Familiarity with systems that support regulated healthcare markets, including Medicare
  • Familiarity with formulary management tools and how they serve members and prescribers
  • Exposure to APIs, system integrations, or healthcare data platforms
  • Knowledge of pharmacy-related data standards like NCPDP or Medi-Span is helpful but not required
  • An advanced degree in a relevant field (MBA, MPH, or a technical degree) is a plus

SALARY (BEFORE BONUS POTENTIAL):

$150,000-$195,000/yr

Offer amounts for both remote and in office roles are influenced by geographic location.

We are all worthy of respect and understanding and we engage in our interactions with care and intention. We honor our stories. We listen to—and hear—each other, we celebrate our differences and similarities, we are present for each other, and we strive for mutual understanding.

3) We debate then commit
We believe that a spirit of open discourse is part of a healthy culture. We understand and appreciate different perspectives and we challenge our assumptions. When working toward a decision or a new solution, we actively listen to one another, approach it with a “yes, and” mentality, and assume positive intent. Once a decision is made, we align and champion it as one team.

4) We cultivate grit
Changing healthcare doesn’t happen overnight. We reflect and learn from challenges and approach the future with a determination to strive for better. In the face of daunting situations, we value persistence. We embrace failure as a stepping stone to future success. On this journey, we seek to act with guts, resilience, initiative, and tenacity.

5) We seek to delight
Healthcare is complicated and personal. We work tirelessly to meet the goals of our clients while also delivering the best experience to our members. We recognize that no matter the role or team, we each play a crucial part in our members’ care and take that responsibility seriously. When faced with an obstacle, we are kind, respectful, and solution-oriented in our approach. We hold ourselves accountable to our clients and our members’ success.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
