About Shipium

Shipium is on a mission to solve the ‘Prime problem’ that modern retailers face today how to make fast, free, and on-time delivery promises a cornerstone of the customer’s shopping experience. We work with both fast-growing companies and well-known large retailers to cut costs, speed deliveries, and increase flexibility through great APIs, easy integrations into existing infrastructure, and powerful services optimizing the full retail supply chain.

We’re building tech that connects previously fragmented systems and automates complex supply chain decisions to deliver speed and value across operations.

Founded in 2019 by supply chain technology experts from Amazon and Zulily, the company is on a mission to help every eCommerce company provide its customers a great delivery experience while simultaneously reducing their costs to fulfill orders.

About the role

As a Product Manager at Shipium, you will own problems end-to-end across the full product lifecycle—from early-stage opportunity exploration through delivery and continuous iteration. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and tactical execution: you will contribute to identifying net-new platform capabilities while also working embedded with engineering teams to ship high-quality features.

You will operate in a cross-functional environment, collaborating with Leadership, Engineering, Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Services, and Network Operations. Your success will be measured by your ability to identify the right problems to solve, define clear requirements, deliver working software, and drive measurable business outcomes.

What you'll do

  • Exploration & Discovery
  • Synthesize signals from across the organization (carrier roadmaps, competitive intel, sales feedback, emerging technologies) into opportunity candidates
  • Draft Opportunity Briefs and maintain the Opportunity Backlog for leadership review
  • Facilitate monthly Exploration Reviews with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Conduct Jobs-to-be-Done research, customer interviews, and hypothesis validation
  • Size opportunities with evidence and define success metrics before building

Product Definition & Delivery

  • Write detailed PRDs with clear scope, success metrics, and acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate with engineering on API design, data models, and technical specifications
  • Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and stand-ups to maintain velocity
  • Make real-time trade-off decisions on scope, timeline, and quality
  • Create and execute acceptance test plans; conduct UAT
  • Manage feature flags, phased rollouts, and release coordination
  • Troubleshoot and triage product issues with engineering

Launch & Iteration

  • Drive launch readiness and execute staged rollouts
  • Monitor adoption metrics and triage launch issues
  • Own shared launch KPIs with Product Marketing (adoption, conversion, satisfaction)
  • Analyze usage data, run experiments, and drive continuous improvement
  • Conduct post-launch reviews and capture learnings

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with Product Marketing on positioning alignment, launch tier decisions, and GTM readiness
  • Support Sales with product expertise, demos, and solution scoping
  • Coordinate with Customer Success and Services on implementation feasibility and support readiness
  • Engage Network Operations on carrier roadmaps, operational constraints, and regulatory signals
  • Communicate product updates to internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Required
  • 3-5 years of product management experience, preferably in B2B SaaS
  • Proven track record shipping products from concept to launch in agile environments
  • Strong requirements writing skills (PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to define KPIs and measure product success
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools

Preferred

  • Experience in logistics, shipping, or supply chain software
  • Experience with API-first product development
  • Familiarity with JTBD or similar discovery methodologies
  • Ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate documentation and analysis
  • Technical fluency: comfort with API documentation, system architecture discussions, and engineering collaboration

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
