At Chromatic, our mission is to improve the UX of the internet and safeguard the world's pixels. We're building tools that make it impossible to ship broken UI. Thousands of frontend teams—including BBC, Shopify, and Adobe—use Storybook and Chromatic to map every state of their applications and ensure each one is tested and approved before reaching the billions of people who interact with them daily.

We’re seeking a Product Manager to own company objectives for improving our platform. You’ll work directly with customers to understand their asks and drill down to the root causes for the problems they’re facing. You will also work closely with our design, engineering, and marketing teams to craft product enhancements in support of the metrics backing our objectives. You’ll own these features end-to-end from discovery to delivery and work with engineering teams across the platform to do it.

Over the past year, highlights from our team's work include:

  • Launched an accessibility regression testing product to help customers continuously improve the accessibility of their front-ends.

  • Improved efficiency of agentic workflows with the Storybook MCP hosted by Chromatic as well as other enhancements across the platform.

  • Built visual regression testing support for React Native Storybook.

We're at a significant moment in our company's history. We're running a successful business at tremendous scale and your work will immediately impact customers worldwide. We need your expertise to help take us to the next level. Shipping with momentum matters, but we also make space to think ideas through carefully and ship the right things. Our diverse team is full of passionate, curious people who can learn, grow, and feel supported in taking on new challenges. We dive into complex problems and create simple, high-quality, delightful solutions. If you're energized by building developer tooling and being an active user of the product you work on, this is the perfect job for you.

This is a fully remote position on a cross-functional team for individuals based in the mainland US or Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Own the vision for end-to-end business objectives that span multiple engineering teams.

  • Synthesize your ideas, our business goals, customer feedback, product analytics and insights gleaned from the marketing/sales teams into feature specifications.

  • Work closely with the engineering and marketing teams to ensure we ship world class software that matters to our existing and future customers.

  • Manage analytics instrumentation across our products and use it to make data driven product decisions.

What we’re looking for
  • 4+ years product management experience with SaaS companies.

  • Clear written and verbal communicator who provides straightforward, self-contained updates with necessary context in our distributed, asynchronous environment.

  • Technical background strong enough to understand how our tools are used by developers.

  • Strong opinions, weakly held—someone who pushes back on ideas to drive better outcomes, handles critique without defensiveness, and demonstrates a growth mindset.

  • Evidence-driven mindset—uses customer feedback and our analytics instrumentation to make informed product decisions.

  • Accountability—experience leading the end-to-end process for a feature from conception to release.

We’d be extra excited if you…
  • Were previously a front-end software engineer.

  • Have experience working in the developer tooling space.

  • Have a keen interest in UI, design and the front-end ecosystem.

  • Have worked effectively in a distributed, remote-first team environment.

We understand that even the best candidates might not meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re excited about Chromatic’s mission and want to grow your skills, we’d love to hear from you.

Salary Range: 170,000 - 210,000 USD + equity. Learn more about our compensation philosophy here. For a list of our other benefits & a peek into life at Chromatic, visit our careers page.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
