The summary above was generated by AI

The Basics:

As a Senior Product Marketing Manager, you will drive go-to-market strategy for Tanium’s core Autonomous IT Platform, with a focus on the platform foundations that power endpoint management and security at scale (data, real-time intelligence, policy/automation, integrations, and platform services).

You’ll operate at the intersection of product, customer, and market — helping define how we bring platform capabilities to life through clear positioning, compelling narratives, and high-impact content. This role goes beyond traditional product marketing; you will act as a true voice of the customer, engaging directly with users and the market to inform messaging, influence product direction, and build credibility with sophisticated IT and security audiences.

Partnering closely with product, engineering, sales, and marketing, you’ll support launches, enable the field, and develop content that drives awareness and adoption — with an emphasis on clarity, speed, and a tight feedback loop.

This position follows the Company’s hybrid schedule which currently requires employees to work in the office at one of the following locations a minimum of three days per week: Addison, TX; Bellevue, WA; Durham, NC; Emeryville, CA; or Reston, VA.

What You’ll Do:
  • Own and execute go-to-market strategy for the Tanium Autonomous IT Platform (platform services and capabilities), including messaging, launches, enablement, and adoption programs
  • Develop clear, differentiated messaging and positioning that translates complex platform capabilities into compelling customer value (IT operations, security, and executive audiences)
  • Act as a strong voice of the customer — engaging directly with users, prospects, and the market to inform messaging, shape POV, and influence product direction
  • Build and scale a high-impact content engine, including platform narratives, thought leadership, sales assets, technical content, and external-facing stories
  • Partner with product management and engineering to define and communicate platform strategy, packaging, and roadmap themes with crisp narratives and proof points
  • Partner with sales and enablement to create sales plays and platform use cases that show how customers adopt and realize value from the platform across teams and environments
  • Drive market and competitive intelligence across endpoint management, security, and platform ecosystems; identify trends, buyer needs, and differentiated opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Sales, CS, and Marketing to gather feedback, refine positioning, and continuously improve go-to-market effectiveness
  • Support and present to customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to build awareness, credibility, and adoption
Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing, solutions marketing, or outbound product management
  • Experience driving go-to-market strategy, including messaging, content development, product launches, and sales enablement
  • Experience marketing platform or technical products and translating complex capabilities into clear, business-focused value propositions
  • Experience with endpoint management, security, IT operations, cloud infrastructure, or adjacent enterprise platforms (e.g., vulnerability management, ITSM, SIEM/EDR, observability) is a plus
  • Strong experience in market and competitive analysis, with the ability to identify trends and inform positioning
  • Proven ability to create compelling content, including sales assets, thought leadership, and customer-facing materials
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, sales, and marketing teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
Other:
  • Strong storyteller with the ability to turn complex platform concepts into clear, compelling narratives
  • Customer-first mindset with a bias toward direct engagement and feedback gathering
  • Highly comfortable operating with speed, ambiguity, and ownership in a fast-moving environment
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive — able to build, test, and iterate quickly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to diverse audiences
  • Highly collaborative, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment
  • Analytical and data-driven, with strong instincts for what resonates in the market
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
