Role Description

As the Senior Program Manager over the SFU Greenfield (New Build) expansion program, you will execute the strategy and approach for new build expansion opportunities in addition to creating and implementing operating models to support the program. In this role, you will guide the market operations teams on industry best practices, focusing on all aspects of the process from discovery and developer outreach to as-built and hand-off for fiber builds. This role will support broader business planning as it relates to the impact a new construction program can have on the overall operations, including the alignment of practices across all GFiber markets.

In this role, you'll:

  • Guide the market operations team on appropriate uses of contracts including right of entry agreements, typical developer agreements, private easement agreements, and other miscellaneous contract types required to partner with builders. Additionally, you will liaison with legal teams to draft language suitable for the use case.
  • Create and implement complex project plans related to greenfield program elements, including legal / new contract coordination, system integrations, and the creation of custom dashboards and reports providing full visibility into the program’s success.
  • Consult on go to market tactics and a “zoomed out” lens of opportunities to help the business formulate long-term build and business plans complemented by greenfield new build efforts under consideration.
  • Proactively support and develop the company-wide playbook for greenfield opportunities, ensuring considerations exist for all elements of a typical project life cycle including intake and assessment, review and exception processes, and contractor and design processes.
  • Train and onboard regional program managers supporting greenfield new build efforts, ensuring understanding of GFiber standards and processes.

At a minimum we'd like you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, network operations, network engineering, or network construction.
  • Experience working in SFU Greenfield designs and builds with Telecommunications Providers, Power Companies, or Cable Providers.
  • Experience with project management & coordination, working with multiple internal stakeholders

It's preferred if you have:

  • 10 years of experience in business development, network operations, network engineering, or network construction.
  • Experience in analytical and solutions-oriented roles with an emphasis on financial and operational performance with regard to construction.
  • Experience managing projects involving team members from multiple disciplines.
  • Experience working with managing vendors, specifically design and engineering.
  • Experience with Sitetracker and/or other project management tools.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $136,000 - $198,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
