About the role:

Tempo is looking for a Senior Program Manager to join the Product Operations team. Reporting to the Director of Product Operations, you’ll be the connective tissue behind Tempo’s most ambitious product initiatives – from major product launches to significant platform releases. This is a high-visibility, high-impact individual contributor role that requires both strategic thinking and sharp execution.

You’ll work across every department – Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and beyond – driving alignment, surfacing risks early, and keeping complex, multi-team programs moving. A core part of this role is tracking readiness and adoption across customer- and partner-facing workstreams, ensuring that what ships internally lands successfully externally. You won’t manage people, but you will influence them – building the kind of cross-functional trust that gets things done.

What you’ll do:
  • Own end-to-end program management for large-scale product initiatives – new product launches, major releases, and strategic cross-functional programs – from scoping through delivery.

  • Build and maintain master program plans, track milestones and dependencies, and drive accountability across teams to keep initiatives on schedule.

  • Facilitate alignment across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and external partners – translating complexity into clear priorities and next steps.

  • Monitor and report on customer- and partner-facing readiness: tracking enablement milestones, adoption signals, and launch rollout health so nothing lands without the right support in place.

  • Proactively identify risks, surface blockers early, and work with stakeholders to devise and implement contingency plans.

  • Define program success criteria and communicate progress clearly to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders through structured status updates and reporting.

  • Lead post-launch retrospectives to capture what worked, what didn’t, and what the next program should do differently.

  • Use AI tools to streamline how programs are run – from synthesizing updates and generating reports to surfacing risks and managing workflows more efficiently.

  • Drive continuous improvement in how Product Operations plans and executes programs across Tempo.

Who you are:
  • You have 6+ years or equivalent of program or project management experience, with a proven track record of leading large, complex, cross-functional initiatives in a tech or SaaS environment.

  • You’re an experienced individual contributor who knows how to lead through influence – building credibility and alignment without relying on direct authority.

  • You’re genuinely AI-savvy: you actively use AI tools in your work today – to manage workflows, synthesize information, generate reports, and work more efficiently – and you’re always looking for how to push that further. This is a hard requirement, not a nice-to-have.

  • You’re comfortable working across both internal and external workstreams, with experience tracking or monitoring readiness across customer- or partner-facing programs.

  • You’re fluent in Jira and how it’s used to plan and track complex work. Familiarity with Tempo products is a genuine advantage.

  • You bring strong communication and stakeholder management skills – you can adapt your message for an engineering sync or an executive update without missing a beat.

  • You’re structured and detail-oriented, but you don’t let process slow things down – you know when to add rigor and when to move fast.

  • Agile certifications (CSM, PSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP, etc.) and/or PMP are a plus, but not required.

  • A degree in a relevant field is an asset, but equivalent experience is what we’re really looking for.

Why Join Tempo?
  • Impact: Work on meaningful programs that shape how Tempo builds and launches products – your fingerprints will be on everything from first idea to customer hands.

  • Innovation: Be part of a culture that values creativity and continuous improvement, with real opportunities to influence how we work.

  • Collaboration: Join a team that values openness, clear communication, and learning from every launch – wins and misses alike.

  • Growth: Opportunities for professional development, including conferences, courses, and mentorship.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
