BASIC FUNCTION:
The Senior Relationship Manager for Debt Capital Markets will work collaboratively, and when necessary, independently on the Relationship Management activities of a buy-side debt portfolio.
This position will generally be responsible for managing existing and creating new relationships with lead lenders while staying informed and knowledgeable of financing requests of large corporate food and agriculture accounts, in the context of: (i) general business and economic analyses; (ii) financial analysis and modeling; (iii) business valuations; (iv) processing loan applications; (v) and loan legal documentation. The position requires review of credit reports to account officers or committees. The position includes implementation of business development and marketing plans to source debt capital purchase opportunities from Farm Credit and non-Farm Credit banking partners , institutions and brokers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Works with Head of Debt Capital Markets in the evaluation of purchased debt market opportunities from lead lenders, including but not limited to, the evaluation of the appropriateness of the debt investment (eligibility, return, credit structure, and credit risk).
Corresponds with the lead lenders and attends lender meetings and industry events.
Supports and provides guidance to the DCM Portfolio Analysts through the credit narrative preparation/approval process, recommends (sponsors) the credit action in loan committee, reviews loan documents, and supports other needs through booking.
Creates and executes business development strategies to best manage relationships with banks, institutional investors, and Farm Credit partners to foster syndication and participation opportunities.
Maintains expertise in assigned market segments, keeping abreast of industry trends and of the competitive environment.
Provides functional guidance to Portfolio Analysts and Operations Specialists on policies, procedures, and other credit matters.
May help Portfolio Analysts in preparing credit package from time to time, when necessary.
Assists Director of Underwriting-Debt Capital Markets in monitoring and maintaining accurate portfolio data.
Participates in the training and development of other Relationship Manager and Portfolio Analyst staff and may review the work of others as needed.
Performs other functions as assigned.
LEVELS OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:
Generally, exercises no supervision. Makes independent decisions; works under the general direction of the Head of Debt Capital Markets. Minimal oversight by the Head of Debt Capital Markets. May mentor or train other staff members as needed.
TYPICAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
BA/BS degree with emphasis on agriculture, finance, business administration, or equivalent.
8-10 years of progressively responsible banking or related agricultural lending experience, preferably in a sales related function.
Established network of relationships in the farm credit or agricultural lending industries.
Demonstrated credit and analytical skills; working knowledge of agricultural lending principles and practices, and association and FCS operating policies and procedures.
Knowledge of FCA regulations, association, and district policies and procedures.
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and analytical skills.
Experience using PC, word processing, and electronic spreadsheet software. Must be proficient in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting. Employee will be sitting for extended periods of time and accomplishing work at a desk and work at a computer for an extended period of time. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team. Ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job. Some lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds required. Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Travel required in performance of job.
FULL-TIME REMOTE: These roles and job functions can be done remotely, while maintaining our strong commitment to customer service and our business goals. Employees are welcome to come to an office to work if needed, and some travel for team meetings will be required.PAY RANGE:
Minimum $144,039.37 - Max $244,866.92 AnnualThis range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
Reflected is the national base pay range and title offered for this job at the current level.
Compensation, title, and job level may be adjusted based on candidate qualifications including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.
Salary offered, within the applicable range, is one component of the total rewards package offered to candidates.
