Position Title

Senior Relationship Manager – Specialized Industries, Entertainment

Job Summary

The primary responsibilities of this role are to identify new business opportunities and deepen existing relationships with companies that operate in various market segments of the Entertainment Industry associated with music, film, television, live events, etc.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Solicit referrals from existing clients, professional contacts, and other industry resources.  Represent Flagstar at industry forums and conferences.  Translate insights related to industry trends and competition into actionable strategies.

Deal Origination:

  • Actively identify, target, and develop a pipeline of new client prospects. 

Credit Collaboration:

  • Partner closely with underwriting/portfolio teams on diligence, assessment, modeling, valuation, timelines, and internal approvals to drive loan growth.

Negotiation:

  • Structure and document loans, ensure conformity with Bank policy as well as regulatory requirements, and price products within targeted rate of return.

Cross-Sell:

  • Collaborate with Flagstar’s product / support partners including syndications, treasury management, foreign exchange, interest rate derivatives, etc., to provide integrated solutions and drive revenue expansion.   

Subject Matter Expertise: 

  • Leverage industry knowledge / insights to serve as a trusted advisor to clients and provide thought leadership to business partners across the Bank.

 

ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required. 

  • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.  

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS  

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in business, finance or related field. 

  • Minimum experience required: 10+ Years as a Commercial Lending Relationship Manager and/or commercial lending sales. Some experience in commercial credit may substitute for production experience. 

  • Experience specific to Specialized Industries; Investment Banking, Leveraged Finance, or Capital Markets experience.

  • Credit training preferred. 

Job Competencies: 

  • Expert knowledge of commercial lending credit, underwriting and loan structuring skills. 

  • Expert analytical skills to understand financial and cash flow analyses. 

  • Highly developed negotiation skills in addition to excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Experience utilizing a calling strategy to actively call on prospects/clients and establish a personally-developed network of clients and potential clients to source deals through various centers of influence. 

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including; Word and Excel. 

  • Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights. Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results. 

  • Builds trusted client relationships, whether internal or external, by identifying needs and delivering tailored solutions to enhance the overall client experience. 

  • Fosters or supports a positive work culture and productive work environment, displaying importance of effective relationships with customers and stakeholders. 

  • Some travel may be required. 

  • Physical demands (ADA): The job requires a moderate degree of physical exertion and stamina such as standing, sitting, walking, driving or infrequent lifting.
