About the Role at RobCo

RobCo is building the category of Autonomous Industrial Robotics and we're doing it fast. We believe that automating the ordinary frees humans to do the extraordinary, and we're building the end-to-end robotics infrastructure to make that possible - hardware, software, and AI in one stack that just works.

As our (Senior) Robotic Sales Engineer, you are RobCo’s technical face to the customer and the technical lead on every deal you own, from the first customer call to a handover-ready solution. If something is broken, you fix it. If something can be automated, you build it.

Your mission

You work as a team with our Account Executives, and every technical question on the deal runs through you. You carry a quota together with your AE, and you win deals as a team.

Your job is to understand the customer’s process better than anyone else in the room, decide early what is feasible and what is not, and turn a real production problem into a clear, qualified automation case. You recommend the right automation approach and hand it over to our Solutions Development team without late surprises.

You work where modular robotics, software and AI come together, and you help bring physical AI from the lab into real production. You show customers what robots that perceive, learn and adapt can do in their plant today. You have direct access to the engineers, product managers and data behind our robots, and you help shape what we build next.

What you will do

  • Qualify – Join discovery calls and site visits with your AE. Assess use cases early for technical fit, business value and risk, and say no when a deal does not fit.

  • Run requirement workshops – Lead structured on-site workshops with production, engineering and operations teams. Capture parts, processes, cycle times, layout, interfaces, safety and acceptance criteria.

  • Check feasibility – Make the first technical call on reach, payload, cycle time, gripping and vision. Use quick layouts, simulations and tests to back it up, and pull in Product or Solutions Development where needed.

  • Drive the concept – Turn workshop results into clear requirements and recommend the right automation approach. You own the collaboration with Solutions Development and Product until a complete, buildable concept is in place.

  • Be the technical face to the customer – Explain our robots and solutions to plant managers, engineers and executives in plain language. Run demos and support business cases and RaaS pricing inputs.

  • Close the loop – Feed field insights back to Product, so what customers need shapes what we build.

What you bring

  • 3+ years where automation meets the customer: technical pre-sales, application engineering or automation projects

  • You want to be measured by results: you share a quota with your AE and push deals over the line

  • You have had your hands on robot cells, from grippers and vision to feeders, conveyors and safety, and you know what makes them run on the shop floor

  • You walk through a plant, watch a process for ten minutes and see where automation pays off

  • You lead conversations with confidence, whether with an operator on the line or the plant manager signing off the investment

  • You think in structure: after your workshop, the team can build on what you captured

  • You can sketch a layout or check reach in CAD or simulation (e.g. Autodesk Fusion, Visual Components)

  • You enjoy being on the road, around 30% of the time

  • Experience in physical AI (AI-based perception, learning-based manipulation, autonomous robots) is a plus

  • Know-how in machine tending, palletizing, assembly or pick-and-place is a plus

  • Robot programming or system integrator experience is a plus

Why join RobCo?

  • Develop modular, software-defined robotics solutions with us that set new standards in automation.

  • Help us build robots equipped with state-of-the-art AI that perceive their environment, analyze data, and make intelligent decisions in real time.

  • As part of a very dynamic and fast-growing scale-up, you will take on responsibility from day one, drive your own projects, and see the direct impact of your work.

  • Flat hierarchies, open communication, and regular 360° feedback enable fast decisions and support your professional and personal development.

  • Competitive compensation and benefits package - including medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus a 401(k) plan.

  • Unlimited paid time off incl. major holidays.

  • Company-sponsored onboarding and team offsites in Germany.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
