Overview

343 Industries is the developer of the blockbuster Halo series of video games. We are looking to hire a Senior Scrum Master to join our team. As part of Xbox Game Studios, the Halo franchise encompasses games, television series, novels, comics, licensed collectibles, apparel and more. We are looking for new teammates to join our team to build the next generation of games and experiences in our award-winning, sci-fi universe. Responsibilities

  • Be an ambassador for Scrum values of commitment, courage, focus, openness, and respect.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication across teams leading to improved efficiency, effective goal setting, and healthy work/life balance.
  • Identify and remove roadblocks that prevent production teams from performing to their highest potential.
  • Partner with all disciplines to identify and drive resolution to any gaps in our process framework.
  • Provide mentorship to a team of Scrum Masters to schedule, participate, and lead scrum events for Sprint planning, stand-up, review, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
  • Imbed with development teams to surface team-specific challenges with our development process, create a mapping of up and downstream customers, and document assumptions we need to harden.
  • Schedule and drive retrospective meetings across with varying audiences to surface potential future targets for process improvement, the state of current process change rollout, and the impact of recent changes to team health.
  • Be a steward of our product backlog standards and practices to ensure confidence in our burndowns and analytics.

As a Senior Scrum Master at 343 Industries, you will work directly with Producers, Engineers, Designers, Artists, and other disciplines to drive strategic change to our process framework. As a leader, you will listen to the team(s) and improve how we ship efficient, fast, empowering game development processes across the organization.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in production roles in shipping AAA current generation games as a Producer, Scrum Master, or Program Manager
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in development and shipping of at least one product release.
  • Scrum Master certification.
  • Knowledge and experience with Agile software development methods such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe or Lean.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements is required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Passion for Games. Both playing video games and a passion for understanding.
  • Proficiency with Azure Dev Ops, Jira, or similar bug database.
  • Experience with the adoption and support of Scrum/Agile processes with AAA game development teams.
  • Experience as a Process Manager or Agile coach.
  • Project Management and Organization Skills: Program Management is a detail-oriented job. Your communications are clear, concise, and specific. You are adept at backlog management and organization.

Game Producers M4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
