We are seeking an experienced Senior Search Engine Engineer to design, build, and optimize the core search and discovery platform that powers our high-volume eCommerce site. You will be responsible for the entire search pipeline, leveraging our existing investment in Constructor. Your work will directly impact customer conversion rates and revenue growth.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Platform Ownership: Lead the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of the Constructor Search and Discovery platform across our eCommerce properties.
  • Ranking & Relevance: Develop, test, and tune sophisticated ranking strategies within the Constructor console and through API integrations to maximize search relevance and conversion.
  • Data Integration: Build and maintain robust data synchronization pipelines to feed real-time product catalog, inventory, and user behavior data into the Constructor engine via its APIs.
  • Feature Implementation: Implement core eCommerce search features using Constructor capabilities, such as advanced auto-suggest, dynamic faceting, personalized results, and A/B testing frameworks.
  • Performance Optimization: Profile and optimize system performance, scaling, and reliability of the platform's integration points to ensure sub-second response times.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management and Data Science to translate business goals into actionable search configurations and enhancements within Constructor.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years specializing in large-scale eCommerce search systems.
  • MUST have significant, hands-on experience designing, developing, and optimizing search applications using the Constructor platform.
  • Strong proficiency in a programming language like Python or Java for backend integration and API development.
  • Solid understanding of information retrieval principles, machine learning for ranking (MLR), and inverted indexes.
  • Familiarity with alternative search technologies (e.g., Elasticsearch, Solr) is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
