Subject matter expert that provides support for insurance dedicated funds for MetLife's Corporate-Owned/Bank-Owned Life Insurance (COLI/BOLI) and Post-Retirement Benefit (PRB) lines of business. This position is responsible for leading initiatives with investment managers, General Partners (GPs), MetLife's custodian and valuation agent and enterprise partners to implement new investment mandates across a variety of asset classes, manage day-to-day relationships with investment managers and drive strategic solutions to resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary business liaison with affiliated and non-affiliated investment managers & subadvisors. Responsible for building professional relationships that foster collaboration and result in excellent service delivery. Primary liaison with MetLife's Pensions & Investment Manager Oversight team that is responsible for initial due diligence and ongoing oversight of investment managers & subadvisors. Responsible for facilitating due diligence process and communicating priorities to oversight team. Lead the negotiation of fund documents (at inception and upon revisions/amendments) from a business perspective, including: Investment Management Agreements, investment guidelines, Limited Partnership Agreements, Private Placement Offering Memorandum, side letters and subscription documents. Partner with legal, tax, investments, client service, and compliance, where applicable. Maintain fund documentation throughout the life of each fund. Partner with RIS Contracts team to file separate accounts/funds with regulator. Assist with drafting the Memo of Operations; respond to regulator inquiries. Lead the development of a fund's operational infrastructure on MetLife's administrative platform, downstream systems and with MetLife's custodian/valuation agent. Partner with Client Servicing team to facilitate separate account transactions including reallocations, rebalances, partial & full redemptions and asset-in-kind transfers. Liaison to third party BOLI stable value wrap providers for approval of investment guideline revisions, modifications to stable value agreements and policy/policyholder activity governed by stable value agreements. Provide fund/separate account training to internal and affiliated partners and to new associates and team members. Act as mentor to junior team members.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
• Minimum 5-7 years' experience in investments, life insurance or another related role (prefer investments or legal/paralegal experience)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented, organized, hands on, results driven personality with excellent work ethic.
• Proven ability to work cross functionally to achieve goals
• Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Series 6 or 7 required
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
• COLI/BOLI business knowledge
The expected salary range for this position is $105,000-140,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
