The opportunity
The Unity Global Communications team is seeking a Senior Social Media Manager to serve as the lead expert for our global social presence. We are looking for a seasoned strategist who can bridge the gap between high-level brand goals and sophisticated channel execution. You will support owning our social ecosystem, driving a unified strategy that integrates organic storytelling, targeted paid amplification, and specialized executive communications.

What you'll be doing

  • Strategic Portfolio & Optimization: Own the prioritization, delivery, and performance of a comprehensive social portfolio. You will apply an expert-level understanding of platform algorithms and audience behaviors to optimize content for maximum reach and engagement.
  • Integrated Paid & Boosting Strategy: Serve as the subject matter expert for social performance, designing sophisticated paid/boosting frameworks to amplify Unity's most critical stories.
  • Executive Social Presence: Own the end-to-end social strategy for Unity’s executive leadership (VP+ level). You will act as a strategic consultant, shaping their digital voices to influence the industry landscape.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Act as a key collaborator across business units, engaging with peers and Directors to ensure social initiatives support cross-company projects.
  • Operational Excellence: Identify and implement more efficient ways of achieving success, reducing complexity in our social workflows, and anticipating potential roadblocks before they impact delivery.

What we're looking for

  • Experience: 8 -10+ years of experience in social media strategy, communications, or digital marketing, with a proven track record of managing complex portfolios for global brands.
  • Strategic Mastery: A practitioner who navigates with ease between ground-level execution and big-picture views, ensuring both are reflected in the final output.
  • Advanced Social Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of social platforms, particularly the interplay between organic content and paid growth strategies.
  • Autonomous Execution: A professional who delivers high-quality work based on their own judgment, requiring only occasional refinement on the most complex projects.
  • Team Development: A mentor-mindset with the ability to identify opportunities to further develop team capabilities and workstream dynamics.

You might also have

  • Content Creation Capabilities: Hands-on experience in short-form video production, design, or copywriting to help prototype or refine social-first assets.
  • Industry Insight: A deep understanding of the gaming, ad tech, or real-time 3D technology landscape.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
