As a Senior Software Engineer in 3D Simulation Applications, you'll collaborate with teams to develop scalable simulations for autonomous systems, integrating ML models and improving products based on customer feedback.
The Simulation team at Zoox is looking for software engineers with diverse talents and real-world product experience to help realize our vision for the future of simulation at Zoox. As part of the 3D Simulation Applications team, you will turn research into reality, joining cutting-edge simulation technology with industrial-scale autonomy systems.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with ML researchers, other simulation engineers, and customer teams across the company, expanding the scope of what’s possible with simulation
- Transform complex design challenges into working systems for using simulation to make smarter, safer robots
- Build reliable, scalable, customer-focused, cloud-based pipelines for large-scale simulation and analysis
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science (or a related field) paired with 5+ years of experience in software engineering and systems design.
- Fluency in Python and/or C++ as a core part of your technical toolkit.
- Comfortable with ML concepts and possess hands-on experience integrating ML models into production code.
- Experience working directly with customers to deploy solutions, gather real-world feedback, and rapidly iterate to improve the product.
- Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills, with a self-motivated, organized, and inventive approach to independent problem-solving.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with systems for large-scale processing of 3D, image or multimedia data
- Experience in distributed systems and cloud computing platforms
